    My project is: https://tweetlet.net/

It's a social media tool to quickly generates images from Tweets, text, screenshots, and code.

I'm currently not charging because I want to provide many other useful features in the future and then add paid plans to it.

    Currently, it is fully FREE.

Hi, just a short feedback: When I click on "Code" the tabs disappear and I can't switch back to Tweet / Image / Text.

      1. 1

Hi, thanks for checking it out.

It was actually done like that, CodeLet is done as a separate one with other options.

On Clicking the logo, you will be taken to the home.

        Thank you :)

    2. 2

That's well done! It's quite nice to play with.

      1. 1

        Thank you so much :)

Momentum — a social network for founders and investors driven by building in public. Momentum helps to create and curate your startup content for growth and partnerships.

    https://feed.mmntm.build

I don't charge because we beta testing yet 😅

Interesting, you might want to checkout wip.co by levelsio.

Just throwing unsolicited advice here on a wimp, but I think you could help yourself a lot if the domain is more easy to 1. remember and 2. search for. E.g. have a real name would be beneficial for you

      1. 2

        Thank you for the feedback!

I haven't seen wip, I've looked through it and already got some ideas how to move forward. Thank you a lot for sharing!

As for domain it seems to be an issue — I already got few similar comments before. I really love the name Momentum for the product because it emphasizes functionality, but competition for "momentum" domains is insane. Anyways, will think how we can improve the domain, thank you!

        1. 1

I have a domain finder algo that finds 95% terrible domains but sometimes it spits out decent ones. I ran it with buildpublic and it found

          BuildPublicApp.com BuildPublicBase.com BuildPublicBuddy.com BuildPublicBuilder.com

They're all free domains, maybe consider one of those ;)

          1. 2

That's an interesting angle! Will consider it too

Now looking through domains for the full "momentum" word, there are few to try, I believe they'll be better than mmntm anyway

We are working on ERA - a markdown note-taking tool for developers.

We are still in beta and so we decided to give it out for free, until we launch ERA 2.0 in a few weeks.

    1. 1

      Interesting concept!

We are building a product that needs a nice markdown editor with highlight of code and preview. Can I ask how you did this? It looks super good from your screenshots.

      1. 1

We are working on it over 2.5 years now.
We are using ElectronJS + NodeJS in the background. As database we are using SQLite :-)

  4. 2

    https://sup.bio/

A better link in bio tool, that is optimized to improve conversions instead of boring links dump. More user-friendly and easy to build a beautiful page.

This is a freemium product. The basic version of it will always be free to promote growth. There will be add-ons later that you can pay additional for (which I am still building).

    1. 1

Interesting, I was thinking of building this as well. Good luck!

  5. 2

We're building Launchpedia (https://launchpedia.co) . And we curate the best tools, resources and strategies needed for a successful product launch. We're not charging because we think if we people find our content useful, we can eventually make money through donations and sponsorships. We recently landed our first sponsorship and became coffee profitable

  6. 2

I'm releasing the Seasonally chrome extension pretty soon. It overrides the default new tab page and helps people with seasonal hobbies (gardening, foraging, etc.) keep track of their seasons and seasonal tasks.

The biggest reason why I'm not charging is because I have very little free time each day to work on my projects. I'll have more time in the future once my kids are in school, but until then I want to focus on building, marketing, and growing an audience. My logic is: just because I don't currently want to add the stress of MRR and churn and all that stuff to my life, doesn't mean I can't do work that improves my future self's ability to earn an income.

Also, I find it interesting to work within the constraints of keeping a free product as cheap as possible to run. Right now the only expense for running Seasonally is the domain.

    https://lawrencehook.com/rys/

RYS is a browser extension for YouTube which gives a bunch of options (50+) for customizing the UI. Started out specifically to remove the algorithmic suggestions, but it's expanded to cover a lot more.

Not charging for it because there's other extensions that are similar and they don't charge either. Experimenting with a donor wall to try to generate some revenue. We'll see how it goes :)

This is pretty neat! I believe you should let the images speak on your landing page, it would be much more attractive.

Hi, I'm the founder and creator of Beseek that turns any online article into bite-sized audio summary. You can check out more details on how it works and try the app here https://beseek.app

It's free to download and free to use even without creating an account. Making it free and without signup reduces the friction to user get started using it. You do get extra benefits if you signup an account.

I quietly launched https://codeherald.com/ end of January. It's a no code tool that allows you to setup simple automations (like autoassign yourself or others, post a comment, trigger a workflow when a new collaborator does something) in minutes. It's goal is to make working with GitHub Workflows a little easier, something that I really wished for before building it.

It is free, because it's my first public product (outside work) I have built and I don't yet know what I'm doing, except that I continue to observe what features I would find useful and gradually implement them. At the same time I'm reading indie hackers and try some of the things that are out of my comfort zone, a.k.a. everything not software & product related.

I've build am open source spatial engine to store and query your spatial data efficiently. It is an open source tool and has been used in different projects that I did, up to a scale of ~43m requests per day.

The application uses efficient data structures and allow you to find nearest objects based on the provided geo-location.

I believe there is a lot of room for research and improvement in the space of geo-spatial data storage, and want to provide engineers around with an out of the box solution that can help then manage geo-spatial data easily and efficiently - lesser time to code and R&D

Here is the GitHub link, that has all the source code along with the details on the README:

I have made many the idea is to use them as synergy to do marketing with a form of Engineering As Marketing concept.

    E.g.

https://ElegantDoc.com helps you make beautiful documents for free, but they if you don't pay we put a little "Powered by ElegantDoc.com" in your document. Basically free for almost everything except if you want to remove that.

https://Duckist.com is also have a large free version and super useful. The idea is it will help it spread virally.

Just about starting our marketing campaigns, fingers crossed!

I created an iPhone app called Magnifying Light. It’s free for the following reasons:

    • It was meant to be a learning experience for me
    • I added in-app ads and purchases to further my learning experience
    • There are many competitors (including Apple)
    • Not many people pay for mobile apps

Recently I created my first landing page for it! Check it out below:

we’re building a no code system that allows users to apps that rely heavily on prompt engineering (https://app.conju.ai/). we’re 2 weeks in and are being stingy with feature releases because we historically have a tendency to overbuild. We think it’s an interesting tool with potential, but I don’t think it provides any utility in its current state. From our early users we’ve identified features that should help with retention (as a purely creative tool) but the real thing we’re trying to test is whether other people can build apps that their customers find useful. We’re attracting users to our discord so we can direct comma with them while we build out new features. Once we’ve identified a feature that people keep coming back for, then we’ll consider charging.

The Observatory of International Research at https://ooir.org is free to use as it adheres to fundamental values of Open Science.

The ads cover the costs of hosting (and allow me to get some coffees).

  16. 1

    I'm currently working on https://www.indiehacker.tools/.

Its purpose is to help the indie community by making a list of all the tools (apps, books, courses, newsletters, etc) they created.

I am not charging anything because that'd be against the point. If the community finds the website useful I could eventually release merch or seek sponsorships.

Running it costs me a few dollars a year (for hosting), so generating revenue is not the primary goal of the website.

I have launched Safe Selection: a platform for the safety of women and travelers. It aims to make travel safer for everyone. It is completely free to use for everyone. Safety is primary concern for everyone so all of us should have access to safety platform for a secure and better life.

Our platform provide user-generated reviews and ratings about cab drivers/services from other users' past experiences. The idea is to create transparency between travelers and drivers/services and bring together a community of concerned and informed individuals.

We are building MealCoach - Gamified Guided Mindful Eating! https://getmealcoach.com/.
MealCoach is like your free personal coach at Mealtime to help overcome overeating and lose weight.

We kept the product free to keep the barrier to entry low and iterate with quick feedback. Still learning the ropes of the bootstrapped indie startup game :)

    Making https://migraine-calendar.com/

Just want to help people and learn some coding along the way 😁

  20. 1

storbang.gumroad.com (tools and systems for creating a web series and writing screenplays). I don't charge for most products as they don't compete with tools and information already out there. Instead I charge for a service add-on. Not ideal, but that's what I'm going with for now.

  21. 1

Kody Tools - Hub of 450+ Online Tools.

Its a free tools site so I am not charging anything and I want to keep it that way!

  22. 1

www.mapmelon.com - App for nomad colivers, to share their plans and find new colivings

We don't charge users because we need them lol haha we are starting to charge some businesses to appear there :)

  23. 1

https://www.stackai.co/ is a free resource of AI tools curated from 1,500 tools. Not charging any as I don't think am solving any real problem here and it is boring too. So thinking of providing some value first, then will start to think about monetizing. Meanwhile also building a mini-project to fund StackAI.

  24. 1

https://aiartapps.com a free resources site for everything related to ai generated content: writing, images, ui, video, music, etc! i'm not charging because it's main focus is distribution

  25. 1

https://scratchtrack.net - It's a Windows desktop budgeting and cash tracking app. I wrote it for my own use after all the other options moved to a cloud-based subscription model. It's free because I wrote it for fun, and if it catches on, there's a potential to end up with a high volume message board. My thought is a highly visited message board has more passive income potential than selling a budget app.

  26. 1

    Phojo.app

It's a visual photo journal. I made it for myself to fairly show what my nomadic lifestyle looks like beyond the 'main events', to include the average days too. Then I find it useful as a way to remember my life. Made it to help others do the same.

Don't charge since I have so few users that it wouldn't make any money anyway. And that has been a hard pill to swallow. (Same for sharedgametimer.com, a board game timer)

  27. 1

    Growth Tools!
I have https://trussanalysis.com/ that's a super niche growth tool for gathering emails and driving traffic to my main application https://efficalc.encompapp.com/

Efficalc is still free because I'm gathering initial feedback and setting up the pricing model and infrastructure. Wanted to get feedback asap while I work out the more complicated parts of paid accounts

In less than 30 second, built with Somorr a secure log in/sign up form by just effortlessly drag and drop the elements you want for your log in form. Although, the tool is free, we make money through premium plugins. But don't worry, if you're still start-up we can still provide you those premium plugins through and extended trial valid for one or 2 years. Checkout: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/somorr-3

  29. 1

Launching beta version of https://www.usecapy.com/, it's a simple widget you can add to your website to collect user feedback.

We're not charging right now because it's under development, we want some initial beta users so we can build a product that solves their problems!

  30. 1

We're launching https://tad.gg/ soon. tad is an experiment on fair distribution of attention value from advertisers to viewers.

We don't charge users because advertisers pay to promote their product and users get majority of the rev share.

    1. 2

The design (especially the font) is great. But I found the content complicated to understand... I suppose that it requires a rather high threshold of prior knowledge about, erm, blockchain or so?

  31. 1

Feez is a platform to track progress in public. You can create charts, add notes to them and share your growth so that others can learn by following your success. Currently, it's still under development so that's why I'm not charging 😅

But here's an example of what it looks like: https://www.feez.ws/feezws/metrics.

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/my-note/id1661572992

My Note! is a project I made because I wanted a good note-taking app for myself and anyone else who wanted to use it. I am also looking to get better at programming and app development so I figured I could use it to get feedback as well.

  33. 1

    https://www.therein.io/

Because I'm trying to get some users and initial feedback.
