ShareButtons released: AI-friendly share buttons to help your content get cited in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity

Hi IH!

I want to share ShareButtons.ai - a newly released, free AI share buttons generator designed to help your content get cited and surfaced in AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, and others.

You can check it out here: https://sharebuttons.ai

What it does

ShareButtons.ai generates sharable links and embeddable buttons you can place on your website.
These buttons are pre-configured with AI-friendly prompts optimized for each platform.

When a visitor clicks one, it opens the corresponding AI platform (like ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok) with a crafted query that includes your content - making it easy for users to share and cite your material directly in AI conversations.

You just select the platforms you want to support, and the tool gives you ready-to-use HTML code. No signup needed. Works with blogs, documentation sites, SaaS pages, and more.

Benefits

  • Helps your content get cited in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and others
  • Builds your brand’s presence in AI-generated responses
  • Makes it easier for visitors to bring your content into AI tools as context
  • Simple sharable links and embeddable buttons
  • Free and quick to implement

Examples (for logged-in users):

Some websites are already moving in this direction to improve their visibility in AI outputs. For example, Designmodo’s blog articles https://designmodo.com/email-design/ now include AI-friendly share buttons to help their content appear more effectively in AI-generated responses.

Looking for feedback

I’d really appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on how this could be improved or made even more useful:

  • Would you add AI-optimized share buttons to your site?
  • Do you see value in making it easier for visitors to cite your content in AI tools?
  • Any additional platforms, formats, or features you’d like to see?

Please feel free to share any feedback, ideas, or criticisms — constructive feedback is very welcome.

This is such a great idea, Andrew! Making it easier for content to be cited and surfaced in tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity is the right move — especially as more people use AI as their primary search or research tool. The pre-filled prompts are a smart touch and lower the friction for sharing.

I’m planning to test this on my blog later this week. Appreciate you sharing — looking forward to seeing how it evolves!

This is an amazing tool man. Curious to know how did you get his idea?

    1. 3

This idea comes from a research document suggesting that, in some cases, an AI-powered share links can increase brand visibilityon AI and LLM, whereas traditional share buttons are no longer as effective.

hm... nice. should start reading research papers

  3. 2

This looks like a game-changer! I've been wondering how to make my content more visible in AI chats. Thanks for sharing, Andrew.

    It sounds amazing
    You're doing great

This is actually a super interesting concept. Congrats on the launch. I have bookmarked this for later!

This tool is something I am definitely going to use for my 3 platforms. Will there be a freemium model or anything of that sort?

  7. 1

This tool looks super useful! I love the idea of AI-optimized share buttons to make citing content easier in chatbots. I'm curious how you determine the prompts for each platform and ensure they stay up to date. Great work!

  8. 1

Now make a WordPress plugin for it and it should take off in no time.

This is really clever, Andrew! I have been always wondering about optimizing for AI citation, and this makes total sense - as people are moving to AI tools for primary tool for research and content discovery than Search Engines.

The timing feels perfect too. As AI platforms become primary information sources, getting your content properly cited could be huge for brand visibility and traffic. Specially for new companies and fellow indie hackers.

    A couple of questions:

    • Have you seen any early data on click-through rates compared to traditional social share buttons?
    • Do the AI platforms handle the pre-filled prompts consistently, or do some work better than others?

The free approach is smart for adoption. I'm curious if you're planning any premium features down the line, or if this is more about building an audience?

Really interesting take on the future of content sharing. Definitely going to try this out!

    1. 1
      • Based on our research, users currently click 45% more on these AI buttons compared to traditional share buttons.
      • Yes, the AI platforms take care of the pre-filled prompts.

Premium features will be introduced based on platform adoption.

      Thank you!

This is such a great idea, Andrew!

Looks absolutely amazing! I'll check it out. So excited to see how it works.

  12. 1

    That's an awesome tool !

  13. 1

This is awesome — making content easily shareable into AI tools is such a smart move. I can definitely see this helping with visibility and citations. Would love to see support for more formats like markdown or Notion embeds too!

  14. 1

love how you're bridging the gap between content creators and AI tools..

  15. 1

Do you know if there are any per-account limits on how this works. Will there be a point where the LLM starts assuming it is not important? Really cool tool btw!

    1. 1

      I haven’t encountered any limits.

  16. 1

I think I would definitely add these buttons to my site, but currently the AI doesn't really return any results for me when searched, that's ofcourse because my platform is very new.
But I have one question, your tools claims to "Build your brand's presence in AI memory", does it really work that way? I don't think LLMs 'memory' changes like that if cited by users, does it?

    1. 1

“Build your brand’s presence in AI memory” – meaning your brand becomes part of the AI’s memory for your users. After the initial interaction, users may see more mentions of your website in future prompts and responses.
