I kept getting annoyed at how clunky it is to just send someone a PDF. Email attachments get buried, Drive links expose your whole folder and feel messy, and the free PDF hosts slap ads all over your document.
So I built SharePDF — upload a PDF (Word and PowerPoint auto-convert), copy a clean shareable link, and see who actually opened it: total views, which countries, and where the traffic came from. No ads, and the person opening it never has to create an account.
Today it crossed 300 users. 🎉
Two things that surprised me along the way:
"No viewer sign-up" matters more than I thought. You paste the link, it just opens. That tiny bit of zero-friction is what makes people share it again.
The analytics are the upgrade trigger. Once someone sees their proposal got opened 12 times across 3 countries, they want passwords, expiring links, and custom domains — which is exactly what the paid plan ($5/mo) unlocks.
Free to start with 5 PDFs. Built solo on Laravel + React.
Onwards to 1,000. If you send PDFs for work — proposals, decks, portfolios — I'd genuinely love your honest feedback. 🙏
