Shipped in January, finally doing marketing in May

I started building JobTrackr.it in January. Five months of nights and weekends later, the product is done: AI job extraction from any URL, resume tailoring against each posting, a Sankey diagram of your pipeline, browser extensions for Chrome / Firefox / Edge, multi-currency salary comparison, an AI chat that has context on your applications. It's the tracker I wished I'd had during my own job search last year.

The classic indie hacker mistake: I spent five months building and zero minutes telling anyone. I have a working product, paying infrastructure, and roughly the user count you'd expect from a founder who hasn't posted anything. Three signups, mostly friends.

So this week I'm flipping the switch. Launching on Indie Hackers, writing a dev.to launch post about the build, getting on Product Hunt, reaching out to job-search subreddits and career coaches, and starting to talk about the product in public instead of just shipping into the void.

If you're job hunting right now, or you've ever lost track of which resume you sent to which company, I'd love for you to try it and tell me what's broken. That's the whole goal of this phase: get the product in front of real users and learn what to build next.

Lesson for past-me: start marketing the day you have a landing page, not the day you have a "finished" product. Five months of silence is five months of compounding distribution I'll never get back.
