Shipped ‘Mirror tasks’ in Kanban Tasks
We just shipped ‘Mirror tasks’ in Tooling Studio’s Kanban Tasks.
Now, a single task can appear across multiple boards, and any update made to it stays in sync everywhere.
This tends to come up quite a bit. A task might sit in a project board but still need to show up in a team view or someone’s personal workflow. Until now, that usually meant creating duplicates and trying to keep them aligned manually, which rarely works for long.
With Mirror Tasks, it’s one task, simply visible in different places. A small change, but it removes a lot of unnecessary coordination.
Hey — this is a nice solve. Task duplication across boards is one of those small pains that turns into constant friction over time.
Keeping it as a single source of truth while showing up in multiple contexts makes a lot of sense.
Curious, how are you handling ownership/permissions when the same task lives across different boards?
