Shipping Version 2.0: Moving from a simple spreadsheet to a complete Finance & Digital Garage Hub
Exactly 4 months ago, TrackMentHub started as a personal side project. I was burning out on messy Excel spreadsheets and ad-heavy commercial apps, so I built a simple web dashboard to track my monthly budget, subscriptions, and shared expenses.
Today, I’m incredibly proud to announce the official release of Version 2.0! 🚀
After tracking my own data and looking at how other financial indie products scale, I realized that generic budget trackers always miss a major lifestyle cost: vehicles.
With this v2.0 update, I have officially integrated a "Digital Garage" module directly into the dashboard. Now you can centralize:
• ⛽ Fuel consumption and costs.
• 🔧 Maintenance logs with exact mileage.
• 📅 Reminders for insurance and tax deadlines.
As a solo full-stack developer, my main goal was to keep the application incredibly fast, fully responsive, and completely privacy-focused (100% free, zero ads, no data tracking).
This is a massive milestone for the project, and I'm shifting focus toward gathering feedback from the community to write the next steps of the roadmap.

Nice milestone.
The thing I'd be careful with is that v2.0 may have quietly created a bigger decision than adding a new feature.
A personal finance tracker and a digital garage can reinforce each other, but they can also pull the product toward two different buyer stories.
The risk isn't building the wrong feature. It's collecting feedback from users who think they're evaluating different products.
I wouldn't make that positioning call casually in-thread because it ends up shaping the roadmap more than any individual feature request.
