Shoot at my landing page
Hi Indie hackers, happy Sunday. I just launched https://flightrules.netlify.com/ and I would be incredibly grateful if you could debug the idea and the landing page flaws.
In a nutshell, the project lets you create checklists with support for sharing, rich medias, notifications, fine-grained access control and more to come.
I found that often I can help a great deal my engineering team with clear, step by step instructions on certain processes. And history seems to support me if you look at Apollo mission checklists.

It took a few scrolls up and down the page to really know what I was looking at. I believe that the wording in your post here was actually more helpful in understanding the product than the page itself.
Luckily, the content can be switched around very quickly. That's easy.
The hard part is the layout. I find your site refreshing. The design is unique yet familiar enough to not detract at all from the product. I wouldn't change much here, except for the thickness of the text.
My takeaway, change the wording "above the fold" so that I know what I'm looking at. Use the quote later in the page after I know what the product is :)

The first thing I looked at was the Chris Hadfield quote, whilst a great quote I had no clue what this website was about.
Above the fold make sure to explain what this page is for, what it does. Only until I scrolled down and saw "A checklist on steroids" did I understand.
Also teams usually already have something in place for a dedicated checklist tool, at my work we use Notion quite extensively and previously used todoist - what is flightrules doing better than those tools?
Other than that, I like the design it's quite friendly!

I'm very interested into what teams already use actually. But here is my own experience. My previous company had a google doc which was obviously not great. I tried to integrate Notion in my team workflow last year (wiki, internal blogging) but like Trello it's hard to have a consistent usage across the company (not saying it's not doable nor other teams don't succeed at it). Finally I am a Todoist extensive user and it would not fit to my knowledge: no reusable list template, task done are gone, no marketplace of useful checklists.
Overall I think you can definitely achieve a checklist with a lot of tools. But few of them are dedicated to this and will offer an optimal experience and set of features, focused and simple.
So your point holds... I should put forward more differentiated features. I'm thinking about it thanks a lot for pointing it out!

Point 2: everybody agrees and this is what I am working on right now: clear above the fold.
Point 3: I was actually working on the pretty printing feature (you can see a print icon at the top of the checklist). But it's quite tricky and I was considering giving up for now. Is paper/pdf printing important according to you? Or other formats like CSV, markdown, json, proprietary import/export?
Point 4: Amazing example. I used workflowly but didn't know about this page. I'm actually working on read-only useful checklists to have people engage with the platform very early. Next this kind of playground would be very handy!
