Shopify eCommerce into Mobile App?

Has anyone created mobile commerce app that would show products from Shopify? How was your experience?

Yes, done this for several UK brands. The main decision is whether you want a template builder (Tapcart, Shopney, Vajro) or a custom native build using the Shopify Storefront API.

Template builders get you live in 1-2 weeks and cost around £80-£500/month. They handle push notifications, basic checkout, loyalty integrations. The ceiling is the template - you're limited to the layouts and flows the platform supports.

Custom native (Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android, connected to Shopify via the Storefront API + Cart API) gives you a proper product-quality app. The checkout problem is the main technical hurdle - Shopify doesn't have an embeddable native checkout, so you either use WebView (looks broken) or build your own checkout flow on top of Storefront API + Shopify Payments. The latter is much more work but the experience is night and day.

For brands where mobile is a serious revenue channel the custom route pays off. We work this way at Talmee - subscription model rather than a large upfront project fee, specifically for UK Shopify brands.

Shopify eCommerce can be converted into a mobile app by leveraging the Shopify Mobile App Builder. This tool allows businesses to create a customized mobile app that seamlessly integrates with their existing Shopify store. The mobile app provides a user-friendly interface, enabling customers to browse products, make purchases, track orders, and receive push notifications.
