Should I build A No-Code Way To Setup Events In Google Analytics
Hey Guys. A quick query. I'm not a programmer and run several websites for which we need to setup events inside Google Analytics. Use cases:
- Track the clicks on button.
- Track how many clicks happened on Contact Form Submit button.
- How many people clicked each of the links in the menu bar.
- How many people played a particular video.
- How many people left forms incomplete (so, every field in the form is an event, etc.)
Is there a non-programming way to setup these events? Both in Wordpress & Shopify?
I feel this is big problem for non-tech marketers. I checked out some Wordpress plugins for it though as well as Heap. WP plugin solve this problem to some extent and Heap Analytics is crazy-priced (different segment they are targeting).
Would love to hear your thoughts on this. I was thinking if I build something that solves this problem.
Yes. I would of happily paid $10-$20 yesterday for a solution to this.
Solution desired:
Browse my site with an overlay that allows me to select elements in the site such as buttons, forms etc and then provide the name of the event I want to be called when a user interacts with that.
When I'm done, it spits out the entire code I can just copy paste in my header and i'm done.
I don't mind if this is google analytics, tag manager, mixpanel, kissmetrics or any other analytics site. I need this. Not only for my sanity as I am still learning to code but becuase it would still be faster even if I knew how to code.

Depends on execution of course but yes. I would have paid for this solution yesterday out of pure frustration.

good question - I think it depends on the tools. When you use carrd.co to build a website, you can now add event tags to buttons (did that on nocodemvp.com).
What I'd rather see if a tool that simplifies google analytics. An easy way to create a dashboard: you login, pick what you want to see and then you'll have your dashboard.
Like Baremetrics (for Strip) but then GA, Mixpanel, whatever analytics tool you use.

Interesting.. I'm still struggling to see what's that big pain point non-tech marketers face... Something that they definitely need the help of a programmer. Creating dashboards is definitely there but if they spend time, they can figure it out. For now, seems like a good to have..
Bram, would love to hear what are the key challenges the non-tech people who have joined your course / who reach out to you face and you feel like you definitely need a programmer for that.

Mixpanel is fantastic for companies...with a developer. What are the option for no-coders?!
