Should I buy my app's domain name? 4 Letter URL.
Working on a web and native mobile app. The app name is available in the app store and google play, but the web URL is not. Our current URL we're using for user testing and probably our initial launch is a variation on the name with app behind it. So, it's like exampleapp.com.
My question for the community... I've approached the owner of our app name's URL. He's not using it and he's willing to sell it to me and my co-founder, but he hasn't asked for a price. He asked for a reasonable offer. The app is a four letter URL that has a vowel, but is not in the current English lexicon, meaning I can't imagine anyone else trying to buy it in the future.
What's a reasonable offer? $500? $1000?

Since you have a web app I would try to see if you can buy the domain, start with offering $500 and be open to the seller about your plans so that he understands that he is not dealing with a multi-million company (yet 🚀).
That sounds like a $20k deal. $3k minimum. Example.app, example.io, example.co, exampleapp.com, getexample.com, goexample.com. have all been successful in the wild.
If you have $500 to spend on it, I'd offer that. Chances are he's looking for much more, but you'll at least get a baseline to pursue further negotiation with.

We have theexampleapp.com, exampleapp.com, and example.app. Example.com is a nice to have.
