Should I make my drag n drop website tool into a side project?

Hi Everyone,

I've spent about a week working on a website drag and drop tool for my site yuphub.com. I tried designmodo, shuffle and a couple of others, but they require you to use their design templates and I have my own that I already purchased.

At first, it was just dragging and dropping a few div components. But the template I purchased has over 250 components. So I added a table to store them. Then I had to organize them in groups. Followed by organizing components as a webpage and then a code editor to modify the page. Next, I wanted to easily look at and modify versions of the same page. And my small tool got a bit 'feature heavy'. At this point the backend is pretty solid, but I've spent minimal time on the UI.

I'm wondering if others have similar needs and would like a tool like this?

Here's a short demo: https://youtu.be/r9IScEJFlAg

Description:
Drag n Drop tool that lets you build websites using your own html code or purchased templates.

Features:

  • Create webpage from template html snippets
  • Use your own design templates, snippets of html code
  • save multiple version of same page
  • Upload file of code snippets. (considering integration with Airtable)
  • Semi-code. Edit Html directly on page
  • download complete html pages
