I've been a solo developer for more than a 6 years already, and spent last three years designing and creating games with my brother. One of those games needed a backend for push notifications, but every service we found was bloated with options we didn't need.
We are indies, and we wanted something indie, but don't feel comfortable with free tiers (usually end up being worse than nothing).
So I decided to build my own stripped-down version of a Push Notification Service Backend. It worked pretty well for us, so I decided to just turn it into a indie project. Kind of "Build once, sell twice" thing. That's how SingleWave.io was born, just a couple of weeks ago.
It's not an innovative idea, but I've tried lots of those in the past without generating any revenue, and I felt like this was just something that could be helpful somehow, and with a solid market.
Back to the project itself, I've started with a simple integration of Web Push Notifications. That's it. I plan to offer mobile integration soon, but wanted to have a MVP as soon as possible, to avoid having another project that never gets released, and web push was the easiest.
This is the landing page: singlewave.io
This has not been publicly announce yet, today is the first time I talk about it, so there is still a few things missing:
However, I'm facing a dilemma. I started this with an indie mind, for an indie public; but seems to be nothing of that on the landing itself. I want to make sure indies feel this is a project that fits them, while letting Business know they can trust it. It's fair and affordable, but also reliable. I don't really know what's the best way to share this message, and that's why I'm here, so you can take a look and give some feedback.
Now, feel free to crush my landing (while offering some advice 🙏)
Hey Sergio, just a few comments, so take them for what they're worth...
Hope this helps!
Andy
