Should I rename my product?
I am the owner of idaas.nl
This is an IDentity As A Service solution, hence the name idaas.nl.
Products like this are usually called IDaaS solutions. So my product name is not really a name, but more the name of the product type.
I tend to refer to my product as idaas dot NL. However, this makes it look like it has something to do with the Netherlands, which is not really the case, expect that I live there.
Should I rename my product? Does it matter what name I choose?
To clarify, my product is an authentication platform with single sign on capabilities, somewhat similar to Okta and Auth0. Please help me out here.

just saying you can be as creative as you want.. but I did see "Idaas.nl" and thought it was "ideas.nl"
Yet Another Ident and Authentication Platform YAIAP.com is available but it's a tongue twister :)
You really really want to get a dot com though. the nl is not helping you globally.
in fact it seems like "NL" has nothing to do with your product. but if you do want it to be.. you can call it AuthNL and the dot com is amazingly available for that. see name.com search for AuthNL.com
And remember nearly no business decision is irreversible. Convertkit changed their name, branding and identity.. then went back to Convertkit.
Idaas is not that bad at all. The only only only thing I can imagine is the same mistake I made.. but now that I made that mistake.. it's silly. people click on links online. most of your users will click on a link somewhere. not have to type it. or see it or remember it. But SOME will. two simple words seems better than any acronym right now.
Laura Roeder named her company after looking at available dot com's. PaperBell was born from that.

It's better to have a brand name. You don't want people searching for your product end up on competitor's pages
I think better if you choose a nice product name instead of the abbreviation of the technology
Agree with @icebob ... go with something that's more brandable.
Yeah rename it.
It should pass the loud bar test. You should be able to tell your name to a friend in a loud bar, and they should be able to easily find it on google, or type the domain name directly.
It is not necessary but I think it is always best to secure a .COM domain while you still can.
I mean it shouldn't be that hard to come up with a product name nowadays, perhaps Auth + a random animal: authbear.com, authbird.com, authligator.com 😂
I don't see any necessity to change the domain, but you indeed need to consider whether to change the product name - IDaaS is kinda generic, it's not brandable.
.nl is good if you're targeting the netherlands, but if you're looking to be on a global scene, get a .com
If idaas.com isn't available, try getidaas.com, heyidaas.com or other variations, if you really want to keep the name.
But in general, I tend to choose the product name based on the domain availability, not the opposite.
Also, I personally find the double 'a' confusing, if you speak to someone they might not get that you have two A
