Hey there, fellow indiehackers!
Need your help.
I've been toying with the idea of starting a new podcast. Why another podcast?
Here's my thinking:
- I'm eager to explore how individuals can carve out their path to financial freedom, specifically by growing their SaaS ventures from 0 to $200K per annum. Why $200K? Well, factoring in churn rates and other variables, hitting that milestone marks a significant achievement.
- What really fascinates me is hearing from fellow SaaS developers who've recently crossed the initial stage to freedom and still have that fresh memory of how they pushed past barriers, especially those currently earning between $200K to $500K per year.
- It feels like there's a gap in the conversation—most podcasts out there focus on entrepreneurs ARR in millions or those with big teams or hefty backing. Don't get me wrong, their journeys are valid, but I find it hard to relate to their challenges.
If you know of any podcasts that delve into the above topics, please by all means, share. I would love to listen to them.
The format of the podcast:
- I'll be sitting down with guests who run their profitable bootstrapped SaaS businesses either solo or with a small team, pulling in between $200K to $500K annually.
- We'll dive into the nitty-gritty, asking questions like how they juggle their time, what sparked their initial idea, how they scaled from 0 to 100K, and from 100K to 200K.
A bit about me: I'm currently navigating the SaaS landscape with a venture that clocks in at $25-50K ARR (check it out at www.legistracker.com), and I call North Carolina home.
Does this podcast idea resonate with you?
Again, if you know of anything out there, kindly share.
As always huge thanks.

I would surely subscribe to this podcast.
Thanks, will keep you posted
I would definitely keep an eye on this podcast but I'd be more interested in those stories which led to a breakout success. I agree that this an area newbie founders don't get to hear a lot about, but I don't think it's anyones goal. A better (and longer term) hook might be to do your interviews at $200k ARR and later at say $1M. This is really the journey most of your followers would be looking to take.
Do you have a plan for how you would attract founders doing $200k? Many of them likely don't think of themselves as serious business owners, and certainly don't see themselves as worthy of the attention. Have you asked yourself, what's in it for them?
Overall the question would be - how does this play into your longer term strategy with legistracker.com? Is this just a distraction or a sales channel?
I concur. While reaching $1M sounds enticing, as a software developer, breaking the $100K mark feels like a significant challenge in itself. Yes, the struggle lies not only in locating potential guests but also in attracting them. Apart from the satisfaction of aiding fellow SaaS entrepreneurs, there are minimal direct benefits for the guest. Perhaps there's a slight PR boost initially, but until the audience expands, the podcast won't directly impact them. As far as my service, I see value in listening and learning from others who have conquered the challenges I currently face in growing my business. I hope that through this process, others in similar situations can also glean insights and strategies for their own growth journey.
You should be more concerned with what outcome do you expect for this venture. Are you going to eventually create some into product out of this? Create some community that's focused around that core idea? Do you think you'd be able to deliver consistently around this for a long time period? Do you think you are able to source the interview and make them interesting? Have you considered how much research time your going to invest for each interview or are you going to mostly have consistent questions asked? How are you going to seed the audience at the start? What are you going to "sell" to the interviewee before you have a reasonable audience?
You've brought up some important questions. Honestly, I don't have all the answers myself. Despite efforts such as reading books like "Marketing Made Easy" and investing in business development consultants, sales representatives, and interns, I haven't found the right formula for growth. Perhaps I haven't been adept at finding the right talent, but the results have been disappointing nonetheless. I'm hopeful that by connecting with other generous entrepreneurs who are willing to share their experiences and offer practical advice, I can finally gain some valuable insights and direction.
I've needed to read your landing page at least 3 times to understand that it's not about bills in terms of money.
I get I'm probably not the target audience, but the pages doesn't clarify who is. Also I think that target is pretty small and specific and it probably more outreach than incoming so I'm not sure how important is that page for you depending on your marketing paths.
Maybe your need is just to be more open to asking questions even if they seem silly. Discussing ideas even if sometimes not exactly what you need still moves the process along.
I'm not saying yes or no to the podcast I'm just questioning if you made an effort getting your desired results in other ways like asking here for ideas/feedback, sharing where you are ect.
i think podCast Entrepreneurs On Fire is great. they interview inspiring entrepreneurs everyday. Will you do the same?
Thanks for the podcast, will give it a listen. I'm seeking practical, actionable guidance for breaking through the 100K and 200K revenue. I've grown weary of generic advice like "have systems" and "manage time effectively." What I truly crave is insight into how successful entrepreneurs implement concrete systems for product development, support, marketing, and more. I want to hear specific examples and strategies that have yielded results.
