Should my SaaS have a free plan

I have been experimenting with the different types of subscription plans and recently added a "free" option.

My company is a SEO Tools SaaS and we have over 20 tools at our disposal.

The Free plan only offers access to one of those tools.

It has been tough getting subscribers to the paid plans as we just launched and I don't have any testimonials

The free plans have enjoyed quite a bit of sign ups on a very small ad budget and I am wondering whether it is a good idea to have this type of plan.

Working as SEO consultant for several years, and testing almost all new SEO tools (and there are A LOT), after 2 minutes of visiting your website, I have no clue what is your product, and the landing page seems empty. Maybe the tools are great, but I would advise engaging someone to write the content or take a look at the hundreds of your competitors
    good luck

I've noticed, that the monthly/annual toggle is too far above your subscription plans. On mobile/web view you can't see the change in pricing after toggling. I'd recommend that you move the "4 Things You Can Do With SEO Tools" below the subscription plans.

Also, I'd limit the unlimited searches and domain research on the free tier.

Quick tip: I didn't realize I could click the arrows on the Pricing page for a while. I think it would help A LOT to have the list of tools included in each plan fully expanded by default.

This is a complicated case because you have a lot of tools, and I'm sure you're making some paid API calls, which free users could eat up. That said, I think I would recommend a free trial instead and give them full access to tools that don't use paid API requests and limited access to those that do.

For instance, if you have a 30-day free trial and they fill up their account with keywords to track, they're going to be invested already and won't want to lose their work and data when the trial expires.

It's also a good idea to see what your competitors are doing. I don't think any of the big SEO tools have free plans. Moz, Ahrefs, and SEMRush all seem to be doing paid trials, so that's probably the move.

When launching a SaaS product, one of the most important decisions to make is whether or not to offer a free plan. On the one hand, a free plan could be a great way to attract users and get them hooked on your product. On the other hand, a free plan could cannibalize paid subscriptions and make it difficult to generate revenue. So, what’s the right decision?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. The decision of whether or not to offer a free plan depends on a number of factors, including your product’s features, your target market, and your business model.

What about a no credit card required free-trial? It seems like a good compromise.

It works but the user has to create an account to view.

This may be something to change.

      Thanks for the input!
