Hello fellow Indie Hackers,
The team at Tenably Labs launched Explain Code App to the public on January 12th, 2022. Since then it has grown to over 450 users organically.
We've had many users reach out to us, which allowed us to gain an understanding of whom is using the application the most.
The overwhelming majority has been students, those learning or just looking things up. Helping to understand blocks of code written by their peers, or grabbed from Stack overflow, etc.
With that we are thinking about introducing student pricing.
This will allow users whom are learning to code have access to all features and tools available via Explain Code App.
With that I'm adding a poll to this post to gauge what our fellow Indie Hackers think.
Cheers.
I think that making discounts for students will greatly help promote the resource in the student community, so I definitely support this initiative.
In fact, the number of discounted subscriptions purchased can become more cost-effective than the number of full-price subscriptions purchased. Many resources have discounts on their products for students, for example, the service https://eduzaurus.com/free-essay-samples/movies/ gives free essay samples and also gives a discount on student paper writing when education became the thing around your neck for new users and for students. As far as I know, this innovation has increased the audience significantly.
I would definitely recommend it if you don't have a financial obstacle to issuing a student package. Because the tools that offer privileges to students often show that they have ethical principles and really support education.
I always prefer to use tools that offer privileges to the student.
If you can afford to offer a discount then you should add student pricing.
