I've been going through the "remote, virtual, gamified accelerator" Pioneer.app for four weeks now. One common question from people is "how will you monetise"?
Touchgram has at least 3 paths to income planned, which I generally explain to people in person. None of these are proprietary in the sense that I want to protect them, although I think one's a bit of an innovative twist.
Am I getting asked just because this is a group of startup founders, or do you think this is of general interest to potential users?
Do you think it would reassure people to know how we're planning to make money, to strengthen our assertion that we don't capture their data (and so don't exploit or resell it)?
This probably relates to you being early and with these group of people, generally it would be visible once implemented and most people won't care unless some specific niches...
If you are going for like purely privacy aware people for example than maybe. (They don't represent the general population)
There are probably better ways to prove you don't collect data than showing how you would make money in the future..
Thanks for the feedback. One attempt was publishing an article on iMessage privacy https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/apple-privacy-our-ignorance-message-extensions-andy-dent/
