Hello,
I am wondering if you guys can help me figure out the localization of our app. We have customers from different countries that use Zendo to work with their clients. It is tough to provide each one with localization/translation of the app. For most of them, it is crucial because they work with domestic clients.
Many of them offered to translate it themselves free of charge. But then, with each new feature, we would have to go back to them and do the dance again.
My idea was to create a PO file with all the translations and allow them to upload it to their workspace. In effect, they could change the copy of the app to whatever they like.
Have anyone tried that? Do you see a better way?
I know that, for starters, it would be wise to focus strictly on English speaking customer base. At the same time, with our limited number of customers, it is very hard to say no when people want to use your solution.
Thank you!
I did that, users didn't seem to mind providing additional translations. It was in their interest.
I can't say if it's good or not, but I've seen a few startups allow this.
And I think there's software that makes this process seamless. Just not sure what it's called, maybe you can search around.
crowdin.com perhaps?
