AI Domain Genius - Discover and buy the perfect domain with the power of AI.
I just launched it this morning and would appreciate any feedback!

Here's the backstory:
I started GQueues 14 years ago and although it’s been a great business, one of my biggest regrets is the name I chose. No one can spell it. No one knows what the product does based on the name. People confuse or associate it with the magazine. My good friend always jokes that it’s “task management for the modern gentlemen.” 🙃 Whenever I talk about my business, I feel a twinge inside my body about the name, which definitely makes it harder to confidently market my product.
Fast forward to last month when I attended MicroConf in Denver and met domain investor Andrew Allemann of Domain Name Wire. I know nothing really about that space, but of course the topic of AI came up. He mentioned that he’s tried a lot of domain name generators, and very few provided decent results, and the ones that did (using AI) didn’t show if the domains were available. I thought this problem could be solved pretty easily by combining the ChatGPT API and GoDaddy API into a single, easy to use app.
And while I was certainly excited to have a fun AI project to experiment on, it was also motivating to build a tool that could help people avoid one of the (many) big mistakes I’ve made with my business.
A few weekends later, AI Domain Genius was born. (And yes, the app named itself!)
If you give it a whirl, I’d love to get your feedback (in general), and specifically:
Do you find it easy and intuitive to use?
Does it generate any domain names where you think, “Yeah, I could see buying that domain for my project / business / website”?
Pretty nifty and clean! Need to play around a little to get thing I like but thats AI.
Thanks, @sairampillai!
Yeah, so far I'm finding it gives me good ideas of other words to consider as part of a name, but only produces a real gem every now and then.
Nice concept! One note, generation takes so long that I was thinking it's broken. Maybe some progress bar would help here.
With my test results were interesting as an inspiration, with one beeing quite nice. Maybe a longer input text would give a broader range of results.
@Thomas_Bootify I just added the progress bar, and it definitely improves the experience. Thanks again for the suggestion!
That's a great point, @Thomas_Bootify. I'll definitely add a progress bar.
And cool that it gave you one result that you really liked!
Interestingly, the text box does grow as you type, so you can actually put a whole paragraph of text in there as a prompt if you want. But I see now that isn't obvious, and most people probably will probably treat it as a regular search box, instead of space for ChatGPT-type longer input. I'll play around with this some more - size, placeholder text, etc...
Also, I'm curious if you tried the Advanced Options? For me, playing with those gave the best results. And again, I'm realizing now, that hiding them is probably not be good -- might as well give people the functionality needed for the best results straight-away. I think I'm going to update it to show them by default.
Thank you for helping me consider all of this!
Great, good luck with it! I don't need any domain right now, but had been in this situation before.
I guess a longer text will help most with good results in the beginning. Maybe some examples would be helpful as well?
In the advanced options I saw nothing that was important for me - but anyway it was just a test.
Oooo, yes, of course, examples! Maybe I can even have ChatGPT generate some funny ones on the fly. Thanks, again!
Hey Cameron, it's nice, very handy and easy to use. I also like the UI.
Thanks @Linkology. Did it generate any domains that you would consider useful? Just trying to get a sense if there's any value here.
