Promote your startup on a digital billboard. Out bid other people and get featured on the billboard the next day. The top 3 bidders of each day will get their product ad featured on the billboard the following day for 24 hours.
What is my incentive as a consumer for going to your website?
This type of marketing attempt has cropped up several times now, either here, producthunt, reddit or HN. The incentives for consumers to visit is just not there.

I use IH, Reddit and HN and I dont go there to discover new products.
Its a cool idea though, nice that its monetized right away.

I'm just getting into IH since I'm launching a business soon. Reddit and HN though I go to discover tech news of the day. I like to know whats going on. If a startup is promoting themselves I see it, but I'm really there to see if any headlines peek my interest.
Also a way to kill time, checking out new companies is exhausting in my opinion

I'd buy this if you can prove how many authentic viewers you get, chicken egg problem you have here. Also, it would be great if your billboard is actually physical.
Actually, I don't know if this is done before because it could be a billion-dollar idea: smart connected physical billboards that you can actually bid online.

I like this idea if the design is really slick. However, really need the users. Maybe get customers to offer extra long free trials or user testing?
