Show IH: Building a design subscription agency!

https://www.krystal.works/

Hi All,

I'm currently working on a side project building a design subscription agency that allows people to get unlimited designs for a simple monthly or quarterly subscription. Would love some feedback on my landing page - www.krystal.works.

Generally, the idea is good and the design is awesome! I left some ideas mainly on the copy here - https://visualdebug.com/show/krystal.works

Thank you so much stan for your advice! I've already implemented 2 of your comments and will be working on a about us section as well! Really appreciate it!

The concept is curious to me. If it is done well it could really fill a gap in market. Other alts exist and are missing key aspects. So far I have not found a solution that really gets what is needed. We certainly do not need yet another 'library' of stock-like LP/Price Pages etc.. . Citizens have normalised to the stock generated pages produced by the many no-code tools.

Dribble exists as a solid library.

Anyhoo, great to see another IH-er willing to explore this niche.

LP feedback : does not invite me. Too noisy. Too neon. Neon unwittingly conveys fun, new, hip but lacking substance, genuine. Lacks understanding what is a good LP.

Bigger concern is if you are in fact an expert in 'design', providing 'unlimited designs', then the basic test is your LP. From the LP you are currently showing it tells me your UX skills are not up to the standard they need to be. Not a little bit but a long way. Perhaps I have misunderstood your offerring.

www.semplice.com UI Kits offering is so far one of the best but their limitation is it only for a very small subset of use-cases e.g. they have no UI KIT for aggregator platforms (web app), no UI kit for mobile data capture apps (iphone or android app).

Hi there, thank you for your feedback, although I feel like you may have misunderstood the service a bit. We are not a library like Dribble or UI kit like semplice but a design subscription service so we actually build designs rather than using libraries. Hope that makes sense. Do correct me if I'm wrong :)

nope, I understood your offering is a 'design subscription service'. You shared it explicitly, so I did get it.

Fm, what is out of alignment is your LP and offering.
One can run their design subscription service many ways. Fm your LP does not articulate how you plan to run it. If your going to do it the traditional way of retainer engagement (flat fee per month irrespective of number of requests), then people need to see evidence of your capability. Your library. Your portfolio.

Semplice is a good example as their LP is in the above average category. Sure they are offering UI kit, but one can see the design skills at play by the LP.

Designjoy LP works as they have clear CTA. No confusion about the how either.

hmm alright i get what you mean, thanks catalyst, I'll try to improve my landing page by adding my portfolio in and showing some more of my work. That does make sense. I did add some sample work if you look at the website again, could you give some feedback on that?

How else would I be able to add a clear CTA from your perspective?

One more thing I am curious to know is you said you haven't found a solution that fits exactly what you need. May I know more about this, what do you need exactly and what kind of business are you running? This would help better my offerings.

          Appreciate it!

fm, LP too gawdy to even try and process the copy. Sorry but it is actually frightful.
i did scroll this time to look again and your copy is in blocks. Communicates rigid, poor understanding of design. someone else may resonate with your neon, block bordered text, but i dont.

if i felt we resonated i would take the time to share the business, and business i work with. But based on the LP, we are out of alignment.

Semplice fm, demonstrates they get design. they get smaller businesses.

I clicked the 'Our Work' link and I am scrolled down to what appears one piece of work. that is not a portfolio. Your neon purple 'Recent work' is very bad colour clash to the ?web page. It is not clickable and a quick google does not bring your site up. It needs to be live, so people get the context.

or post your portfolio on Dribble

The more I look at it, the more it generates low trust (close to scam-ish feeling) e.g. someone who does not have the real UI/UX skills, let alone the skills to offer a retainer contract.

hmm well appreciate your feedback and the time you took to go through the website, I'll take your feedback and improve from here before I launch properly

I'll post some more work on dribbble too soon. Thanks for helping out a fellow IHer :) Your words sound harsh but I'll try to be positive about it and go up from here!

Cool. receiving straight feedback is actually a compliment. If someone does not believe you have potential, they will not even bother placing feedback.

Yes I am a very straight speaker. After 20 years in business, and as a business coach for many, little time for fluff. You have courage, as your created the LP. Utilise that. Smile to yourself, that have done that, and people bothered to give feedback. That is a tick in the right direction.

Your CTA says "Unlimited Possibilities". You need to believe that first and foremost. So show that you do. Then it will feel less of a hallow promise.

It takes great work, great resilence, to build a portfolio of superior work. When you have such a portfolio, flipping to a retainer style offering is a no-brainer. But trying to do this without evidence is delusion. Someone does not just give you cash because you ask for it. Basic business.
