Show IH: CheapHarry - Fb bot that helps you get the cheapest Amazon prices

So, I finally have my first Messenger chat bot out the door... CheapHarry basically is a price monitor for amazon.com that lives inside Facebook Messenger.
Just send him a link to any amazon.com products or your whole wish list and he will message you when prices drop (also, he tries to be a little funny but maybe isn't... :D).
Just an fyi: Amazon prices actually fluctuate quite a bit and often it is worth trying to find a local low. :)
Any ideas on how to market? So far I am trying around with Fb ads a bit... PH is on the list as well...
If you gain some traction you might be able to follow the business model of Scott's Cheap Flights — users can sign up for free, but they only get a fraction of the pricing updates as paying users do. Or something along those lines.
Of course, it's the "gain some traction" part of the equation that you'll have to solve first.
Interesting business model there. Didn't know that site. But for my bot I guess a normal affiliate model is enough. That's what other price trackers/monitors do as well. (I'm not reinventing the wheel here. ;) The somewhat new thing with CheapHarry is, that it's a Facebook Messenger bot. I think it makes the service easier accessible then a website/e-mail based model. Also, the price alerts should be quicker to get through. :) )
interesting. I use camelcamelcamel quite often and love it. One of the most useful features is historical price data so you know the price you should set the alert at. I'm assuming it would be too expensive to maintain price history for all these products.
Good point, yeah, price history is quite convenient but there's no chance I can keep a history for all amazon products right now (I think... maybe worth looking into?!). For now, I only keep a history of products that are being tracked but don't yet show the history anywhere to the user yet.
I like the idea, but it seems like it doesn't work with Amazon Germany.

yeah, that's true. sorry for that. I thought I'd start out with US only and implement other sites if I get a bit of traction...
