Hello all! We built Fastbmk.com as a fast, lightweight and reliable bookmarking service. You can create bookmarks with tags and notes. List bookmarks by tag. Search bookmarks. Import and export bookmarks.
Browser addon is available for Firefox and Chrome. Using addon, you can create bookmark and check if the current page is already bookmarked.
We intentionally used a minimal set of web technologies to create a tool for everyday use, which doesn't waste resources of client's computer.

We already use the service on a daily basis and it works just fine. So we invite you to try it too :) Currently the service is more like a minimum viable product. A lot of features are planned to be implemented in the future.

This is quite impressive. It's rare that something does exactly what it says it does in the exact way it says it does it. Nice work.
Kudos for having a Chrome extension out of the gate. Always was frustrating that Pinboard still doesn't offer an official version of this (you're left to fend with third-parties that are a little slow). Yours actually surprised me with its speed.
One note, happy to give this a serious go but not sure what type of file to import for my bookmarks. It'd be neat to have some help text beneath the file input when importing that says (make sure to give us a .something file type). Brownie points if you can link to an example file. It may be worth filming some quick videos on how to move from other popular services to fastbmk (e.g., "Moving from Pinboard to Fastbmk").
Ryan, thank you for the feedback. It's definitely important to explain the import format and details for the new users, will work on this issue. Currently a simple custom import/export format is supported, the details of which are explained in 'FAQ' section. Will work to support other popular formats as soon as possible.
