Show IH: FocusPlus, increase your productivity and wellness

Hey fellow makers!

I'm super happy to show you my last project today!

It's called FocusPlus and it's a productivity app.

Not a classic productivity app tho, our "mission" is to improve your productivity AND your wellness at work.

We're a team of 2 (old) developers with 15 years of experience, we know how hard it is to keep a healthy life while working 8hrs/day on a computer. Especially when coding all day.

We, of course, tested a LOT of productivity apps during all these years. But none of them really care about our health. They just want you to work MORE.
That's great until you burn out or start to feel pain all over your body.

We created FocusPlus first for ourselves, to try to fix our own issues. After a brainstorming we ended with a few core features that we wanted to implement:

  • We need help to better describe our tasks. A "vague" task is super hard to start working on, and also super hard to estimate. It creates a lot of anxiety

  • We need to improve our focus. Multitasking is a myth. If you want to be truly productive, you need to focus on one thing at a time.

  • We need to be aware of the time passing, and to do more breaks.

That's pretty much what we have for now in the beta, if you're interested you can try it here: https://focusplus.io

(It's 100% free during the beta!)

Can't wait to have your feedback!

EDIT: We had an issue with the signup with some browser, it should be ok now :)

    Oh that's a nice approach!

But what do you mean by "breaks"?

    1. 1

We curated a lot of videos of small breaks (~5min) that you can watch between to tasks or when you need it.

We have stretching, meditation, breathing exercices, small workouts, etc…

(Of course we will add more activities based on feedback)

How do you compare FocusPlus with https://centered.app/?

    1. 1

It's way more advanced than we are 🙂

But, more importantly, we help you make more breaks (5min of stretching, meditation, breathing...)
It's super important to stay productive & healthy in the long term.

I don't see that with centered.

    This:

We need to improve our focus. Multitasking is a myth. If you want to be truly productive, you need to focus on one thing at a time.

I completely agree. I can't do two things at once. One thing at a time with full concentration is the way for me!

I think that's just how our brain works 🤷

Your new product looks really great.
    Happy launching Xavier!

Thank you Victor! It has been a bit bumpy, with a few bugs to fix on production but that's beauty of launching a beta version :)

Oh this great, I’m also working on a web app that helps you to focus on the present moment. It’s called the mindfulness app.
Would love to get your tips 😄

Just signed up for this now and excited to try it. I’ve tried so many different planning apps/sites over the years and have never found one that I stick with. Usually I end up just going back to a standard Bullet Journal list.

Looks like it has a nice setup with the Eisenhower matrix of important/urgent as well!

Good luck with the beta stage @xavier and I’ll be sure to provide feedback ☺️

Great Jamie, can't wait to have your take on FocusPlus.

I created a Telegram community for the early adopters if you want to: https://t.me/+e_YLUsT2rk5mNmJh

Hey, sorry about that… We had a bug with some browser :/
      It should be OK now

      (Well, I guess that's why we said it's a beta :D)

  9. 1

    Not worked :(
