Trainers pushing too hard. Apps demanding daily check-ins and exhaustive logging — or going it alone and forgetting when you last moved. Spending more time picking a plan than actually moving. And the bare-minimum approach? Boring within a week.
I just wanted something I could open and start. Something that respects rest, and builds around how I actually feel. A friend saw the prototype and said: "Can you get it to me somehow?" Her partner could use it too, she added — his dumbbells had been collecting dust for months. That made me think: maybe more people need this.
Every workout program, at its core, comes down to four variables: how often, how long, how hard today, and which movements fit your life. Handle puts exactly those four in your hands — nothing more.
Hit Start. It generates a fresh session every time — warm-up, training, cooldown. Intensity resets every session: Soft, Steady, or Strong.
Sessions land on a yearly calendar — one glance, mapped in color.
The build:
Flutter (iOS first, Android roadmap)
Local storage — no user data on servers (privacy-by-design, also keeps infrastructure simple as a solo dev)
Built solo
Full design + development + copy: just me
Revenue model: Core app: free forever, no ads. The paid tier will grow with advanced features — I'll be transparent about what's coming as I build it.
Love the privacy-by-design approach with local storage. As a solo dev myself, keeping infrastructure simple is so underrated. The "four variables" framing is clean — sometimes the best product decision is deciding what NOT to include. Good luck with the iOS launch.
Interesting positioning.
The thing I'd be careful with is that people can admire flexibility and still choose structure.
Those can look aligned early on while pulling the product in very different directions.
That's one of those decisions that can quietly shape everything that follows.
Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
