Hello IndieHackers! 👋
My name is Igor, I'm a full-stack web developer and musician.
In my spare time I create digital products.
Today I want to show you something I've been working on with my friends for the past two months.
I had to share a reminder with several people. I don't use calendar apps at daily basis, but to solve this I decided to use Google Calendar. I created an event, copied the link and shared it with a group of people. It turned out that most of them do not use calendar apps at all! 😯
After a little thought, I came up with an idea: what if you could "set an alarm" for an event using a link? At the same time, I wanted create events in a few clicks. Without any sign-up.
I wanted the recipient to receive a notification about the event where it is convenient for them. For example, in a browser or messenger.
So Hapen was born! 🎉
And then I realized: events can be used to pre-release some content: a podcast, a book, your product, and so on 🤯
Example:
Now your followers will be able to set a reminder. And they will receive a notification when your product launches.
And this is one of the many usecases.
There are simpler examples. Here's the event page of next SpaceX launch 🚀 - https://hapen.io/spacex-falcon-9-crs-21-launch
And here's new batman coming out - https://hapen.io/batman-most-wanted-2020. Set yourself a reminder not to miss out!
You can create an event without registering on the main page. But if you need to add a link, text, or background, do it via the Dashboard.
I will be very happy to receive feedback, it is very important for me. The ability to add a link to an event page is the result of feedback from our early adopters, for which I am very grateful 🥰
