Show IH: HN Click Saver
I've been a long time HackerNews reader but clicking on the story link then clicking on the comments page of that article feels like a chore. I've been waiting for someone to build a chrome extension to save us some clicks but I grew tired and I've scratched my own itch. So this chrome extension does super simple things below.
When an article is clicked in HN:
(1) Open the article href link to new tab and also
(2) Open the article comments to new tab.
(3) Prevent opening an article and or comment page when it is already active in another tab.

I know it does basic things and I would like to know your opinions and or possible improvements.
Cool product. Thoughts are that does a simple job well and is a good start, but the problem that solves isn't painful enough for people to really want this bad enough to look for it.
Where can you go from here? Maybe go more in-depth. I'd avoid adding features just for the sake of it. Instead talk to people and find out what they want (usually a solution to some problem). See if you can hit on something substantial.
For example, maybe people are tired of seeing stories about X and want to be able to filter things out automatically. Maybe they want stories about topic Y to be highlighted. Maybe they want to see important recent discussions that they missed out on. Etc. Who knows? You'll have to find out.
But HN has such a high readership that if you can get a significant number of people to use your extension, you can use it as a launching pad for other ideas that are potentially more profitable. You could use to build an audience for yourself as well.
