Show IH: How I Turned My Frustration Into a $2K MRR Opportunity In a Week!

Hello IH πŸ‘‹

It all started when I was watching a long video podcast (~ 3 hrs long) and half way in realized that I had wasted more than an hour on something that I didn't find in the video based on the title and its vague description 🀦

I had faced this issue many times previously. I thought to myself that there already was a solution out there that would solve my problem - knowing the structure to a video/podcast content before consuming it so I could easily browse through structure (chapters/table-of-contents) and watch content relevant to me like in a book

A solution like this would help both viewers and creators -

  • Viewers - Understand the structure of the video, watch relevant content, and skip to the part they are interested in. Saving hours of their time.

  • Creators - Increase the discoverability of the video by 2x (SEO keywords) and average view duration by 25% (engaging more viewers).

There was actually a solution but it was not widely used πŸ€”

What! Are you crazy.... I also thought the same but the existing solution had a problem!

Creators had to manually spend hours of their time to watch the whole video and add chapters. 95% of creators didn't have time and resorted to not adding chapters. Only mere 5% of creators either created it themselves or hired an agency/team to add chapters which costed them $1.25/min ($225 for a 3 hr podcast) which most creators cannot afford for a single episode! 😠

I thought to myself in this age of OpenAI's GPT3 there has to be a better solution which not only creates chapters automatically for videos/podcasts, but its 10x cheaper and 100x faster than doing it manually. I looked everywhere in the internet but found no solution πŸ’‘

With this hypothesis, I talked to 100's of creators and many responded positively and some really wanted the product. A few I spoke to said β€œI was looking for an app like this but did not find one out there!” 😎

This led us to start working on ChapterMe - The one and only AI tool that auto-creates timestamped chapters for your videos and podcasts πŸš€

In 4 weeks, the minimum usable product was out and we were able to get 50+ sign-ups and 2 paid enterprise subscribers in one week! πŸ”₯ This was also possible because of the legwork we did before writing a single line of code - talk to users who really needed it!

This put us at 2K+ MRR in just a week which we never believed would happen 😊

πŸŽ‰ To celebrate this win we are offering 10 creators a life-time membership with premium features for $240 only!! ($1000 worth) 🎁

To participate you just have to comment down below πŸ‘‡. The first 10 comments will be selected!

Cool story! I tried signing up and it seems to be broken, the signup button just turns into a blue square that animates over and over again but never stops.

Hey @csallen, just checking in, I know you're probably super busy and do not trust ChapterMe anymore because it did not work the first time. I completely agree but our server crashed due to the surge in traffic which we did not anticipate because we posted on multiple platform including IH.

Hope you get to try it! 🀞
