What it is: Turn Your Recipes Into an Online Business: Step-by-Step Guide (https://mitraraman.gumroad.com/l/foodbevbusinessguide). It's a comprehensive guide to creating a brand, starting a business, producing a food/bev product, and selling it online, all within 1 month. I took all of my notes + experiences from building my own start-up and put it into an e-book and resources to help the next founders create their own. It's everything I wish I had when I started. I used Notion to write + organize the guide, and customers get the PDF version.
Credibility: I'm an engineer turned D2C food founder. What started as a single family recipe scaled into a successful e-commerce business with 20+ products, shipping to all 50 states, monthly revenues of $10K+, got into YC and raised $500K+. I've also consulted for 10+ e-commerce businesses helping them with branding, marketing, packaging, inventory management, conversion and retention.
The guide includes:
What I've learned launching my first info product: I spent most of the time (~20 hours) consolidating all of my notes from my start-up, finding links to tools I had used, and writing as fast as I could. I spent ~4 hours total on the launch page itself, since it's the "landing page" for your product. It's important to have an audience for the product you're releasing beforehand, in order for the launch to go well. My most successful launch plan came from sharing in CPG / E-commerce FB groups I was already part of and having friends with large followings share on their social medias. Still learning!
An idea following up on my other comment: Can you advertise this with targeted ads at niche Reddit communities? /r/hotsauce and /r/icecreamery come to mind.
That's a good idea!! I'll definitely check those communities out, thanks!
Neat idea. I like how niche it is, and yet I wonder if it could be even more niche? What are you doing to promote it? Could you make slight variations in the title and content to attract specific audiences?
Example: “How to start your own hot sauce company.” or “Package and market your own ice cream brand.”
Another suggestion is to make the higher end package way more expensive to make the lower end one feel cheaper. If you’re course is $49 make the course + personal consulting call $799 and suddenly the $49 seams like an easy buy. (Price anchoring.)
