Show IH: I built a 100% free, privacy-first digital business card platform (No ads, no tracking, <0.8MB)

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a personal project born out of my own frustration with current market solutions. I decided to release it completely free, clean, and without compromises: https://mybusinesscard.digital

I wanted to build a digital business card platform that puts user respect first, stripping away all the fluff, forced upsells, and dark patterns used by big platforms.

There is only one tier: 100% FREE.

The entire platform (Home, Dashboard, and every single card element like buttons, accordions, titles, and modals) is fully translated into 15 languages.

I built the project around three strict, non-negotiable rules:

1️⃣ No email required to try it: Anyone can test the fully functional builder in "Guest Mode". An automated system wipes all guest data and uploaded files every 24 hours to keep the infrastructure clean.
2️⃣ Zero ads and zero third-party branding: The final card is minimal and focused entirely on your brand. There are no forced watermarks or "made with" links from my site.
3️⃣ No tracking whatsoever: No invasive third-party cookies or scripts. It runs on a lightweight stack (Pure PHP, Vanilla JS, and Bootstrap), keeping the footprint under 0.8 MB per user for lightning-fast performance and full GDPR compliance.

🚀 Key Features & UX Details Include:

• 12 Flexible Layouts: Fully customizable with your own colors, fonts, links, and social profiles.

• Dynamic, Colorful QR Codes: Instead of standard black-and-white codes, the QR code automatically generates using your custom palette (background + icons). You can also embed your profile picture or cover image right in the center.

• Optimized WhatsApp Sharing: When using the native "Share" button, the system auto-formats a clean message with your name, profession, and direct link, while WhatsApp automatically pulls a beautiful preview showing your profile picture.

• Native PWA Functionality: After the first scroll, a discrete modal (localized in the user's language) prompts them to save the card directly to their smartphone home screen like an app.

• One-Click Contact Saving: A dedicated button allows anyone viewing your card to download the vCard file and save your details directly to their phonebook.

If users decide to register (still 100% free) to lock in their custom URL (e.g., mybusinesscard.digital/your-name), I promise zero marketing emails or newsletter spam. You will only ever receive verification or password reset emails. And in full compliance with GDPR, there is a prominent button to permanently delete your account and all associated data in just a few clicks.
