Hi everyone,
I’m a dad managing my 11-year-old daughter's Type 1 Diabetes. For those unfamiliar with T1D, the main goal is to keep blood sugar levels in a safe target zone (called Time in Range). The biggest challenge? Calculating the exact insulin dose for every single meal.
Doctors usually prescribe a fixed insulin-to-carb ratio. But in reality, this ratio constantly fluctuates due to stress, physical activity, or even the weather. To keep my daughter's numbers stable, I spent years manually recalculating this ratio for every meal, basing it on how her body reacted over the last few days.
It worked great and gave us excellent Time in Range numbers, but the math was entirely in my head. To give her some independence so she could safely calculate doses at school or at friends' houses, I automated my sliding-window logic into a simple web app.
It was meant to be just a personal family tool. But at our recent endocrinologist appointment, her doctor saw the app and got genuinely interested. She instantly understood the benefits of the dynamic, sliding-window calculation and validated the logic behind it.
That interaction inspired me to open the tool up to more people. I understand that HealthTech is a highly sensitive space, and I am stepping into it very carefully. I am not offering a medical device, just a tool that automates a daily mathematical burden.
If anyone here manages insulin-dependent diabetes (or knows someone who does), I would be incredibly grateful if you could share it or try it out. I am looking for brutal, honest feedback on the logic and the UX.

Thanks for reading!
This is such a cool story. What started as a way to help your daughter and make life a little easier for your family could end up helping a lot of other people too. I really like that you're approaching it thoughtfully and focusing on reducing the day-to-day mental load of diabetes management. Wishing you the best with it - I hope you get some great feedback from the community.
Thank you so much! And I hope too!
