Most solo founders waste months building features nobody needs.
I built a free tool to fix that: you paste your SaaS idea, and it gives you a brutal 4-week MVP plan. Must-have features, should-have with no-code workarounds, and a won't-have list with reasons for each cut.
It also gives you:
A core bet statement (or infers one if you don't have one)
A fixed 4-week roadmap
Pre-launch validation questions to ask real users
Post-launch metrics to watch
Hidden risks you're probably ignoring
I fed it my own product ideas. It killed 6 of 12 features I was secretly planning, including social leaderboard (vanity) and multi-currency support (premature). Painful but accurate.
The AI acts as a YC partner persona, no fluff, no "consider adding X". It tells you what to cut and why.
Free, no login, no email gate. Try it: https://muzi.studio/tools/mvp-planner
the hardest part of building less is teh psychological part. when you spend days thinking about a feature, it is really hard to just delete it from your roadmap. but every extra feature is just another thing to maintain and debug later. keeping it simple is hard because it leaves you with nowhere to hide if the core idea isnt actually good.
You nailed it. The hardest part is not the cutting. It is the attachment. You spend days thinking through a feature, you can see how it would work, and then the tool tells you it is vanity and you know it is right but it still hurts. The nowhere to hide framing is exactly right. If your core idea is not good, no amount of features will save it. Better to find out fast.
Love the brutal YC persona approach. Most founders (myself included) suffer from 'one more feature' syndrome before launching.

I actually do $1 lightning roasts for landing pages like this if you want a deeper teardown of the conversion flow: https://roastmysite.io/go.php?src=external_manual_ih_mvpplanner_ycpersona_may17_usd_presell_hv
