Show IH: I built bb.bi — a personal site platform where you paste HTML and it's live

## what I built

bb.bi is a personal site platform. you get one address (like bb.bi/yourname) and it can be anything — a link-in-bio, a blog, a portfolio, a restaurant menu with online ordering.

the original idea was simple: AI generates great HTML now, but there's still no frictionless place to put it. I wanted "paste and it's live" — no deploy, no server, no DNS config. that became bb.bi.

## how it works

- start simple: sign up, pick a handle, add your links. you have a link-in-bio page in under a minute.

- go deeper: write blog posts in Markdown, enable plugins (contact forms, guestbook, visitor counter, quizzes, bookings), add subpages.

- go full custom: write raw HTML with Tailwind CSS, or use the built-in AI page builder — describe what you want in plain text, get a styled page back.

the key design decision: AI is optional. the platform is useful without it. you can write Markdown, paste HTML from ChatGPT/Claude/Cursor, or use the built-in generator. all valid paths.

## plugins (the part I'm most proud of)

instead of building one thing well, I built a plugin system. each plugin is opt-in:

- blog — Markdown posts, categories, tags, RSS feed (free)

- contact forms — customizable fields, unlimited submissions (free)

- visitor counter — per-visitor dedup, bot filtering (free)

- guestbook — with moderation/approval workflow (Pro)

- media library — CDN-hosted images with folders (Pro)

- quizzes — scored + personality types, submission tracking (Pro)

- online bookings — services, availability, scheduling (Business)

- menu & ordering — full restaurant system with categories, variants, modifiers, order management (Business)

every plugin exposes a JavaScript SDK inside your HTML pages. so you can call bb.posts.list() or bb.counter.increment() from your custom code — your static page gets a backend.

## pricing

I intentionally made this cheap:

| Plan | Price |

|------|-------|

| Free | $0 — 1 handle, blog, forms, counter, 15 AI credits/yr, no branding |

| Pro | $9.99/yr — subpages, subdomain, guestbook, media library, 500 AI credits |

| Max | $49.99/yr — 100 subpages, 5 handles, 2,000 AI credits |

| Business | $199.99/yr — unlimited subpages, bookings, menu ordering, 5,000 AI credits |

yes, per year. not per month. I think personal sites shouldn't cost $20/month.

free plan has zero branding. no "made with bb.bi" badge, no ads, nothing. your content, your page.

## current state

- live and working at [bb.bi](https://bb.bi)

- 14 case studies showing different use cases

- site fully translated in 14 languages

- 11 comparison pages vs competitors (Linktree, Carrd, WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow, etc.)

## what I'd love feedback on

1. positioning — is "beyond bio" clear enough? or does it sound like just another link-in-bio tool?

2. plugin system — does the breadth (blog + quizzes + bookings + restaurant menus) feel coherent, or like feature soup?

3. pricing — too cheap? the $9.99/yr Pro feels like a no-brainer to me, but I wonder if it signals "not serious."

happy to answer any questions about the build, the architecture, or the business model. thanks for reading.
