Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m building Kinovi, an AI video and image generation platform with a playground and API access for newer creative models.
Right now I’m preparing our Seedance 2.1 workflow before the model becomes fully available.
The problem I’m trying to solve is simple: AI video demos look impressive, but using video generation inside a real product is still messy. Builders need stable API docs, predictable inputs, clear pricing, repeatable outputs, and a way to test prompts before committing to an integration.
For Seedance 2.1, the upgrades I’m watching most closely are:
- richer multimodal input
- longer video generation
- better prompt adherence
- smoother motion
- stronger character consistency
- frame-level editing
- reference-based workflows for ads, product demos, and creative tools
With Kinovi, I’m trying to make it easier for teams to test Seedance workflows through both a web playground and API route.
The early model page is here:

I’d love feedback from other builders:
If you were adding AI video generation to your product, what would matter most to you?
- lower price
- faster generation
- stable API
- character consistency
- longer videos
- image/video/audio reference input
- ready-made templates
- commercial usage clarity
Also curious: would you rather start with a polished playground first, or go straight to API docs and examples?
Interesting framing.
Reading this, I found myself wondering whether the real bottleneck is video generation quality or integration trust.
A lot of builders seem willing to tolerate imperfect outputs if they feel confident about how the model behaves inside a product.
