I started something that may interest you. The indie maker / hacker community is bustling and growing each day. There are groups and boards such as WIP.chat, Makerlog, IH, Product Hunt, but there isn't a single news source out there.
🚀 Two days ago, I launched Makers Up, the first consolidated news source for the indie maker community. We're a global team that covers your favorite makers, products & maker-related events.

On one afternoon, I was waiting for my brother to be dismissed from school. Around this time, I was looking to make an alternate Twitter account to keep track of new indie products, just like any indie lurker. To pass time, I created a little animation that says, “What are makers up to?”, and that was my first tweet.
I went to bed, not thinking much of it. However, when I woke up the next morning, a few notifications trickled in. Apparently, there are other Twitter users who would want to know what makers are up to also!
For the past year or so, the indie maker community is seriously bustling & growing. There are boards like Makerlog, IH, PH, and groups like WIP.Chat and Maker’s Kitchen, but there’s not a single news source!
So, looking to fill that void, I started Makers Up. To this day, we have a global team of 5, pushing out & catching new content 24/7.

Congrats on launching! It sounds like a good idea to have a news source specifically for the indie maker niche. I find it hard myself to keep up with all of the content and products that everyone are creating.
Speaking of, I'd love to hear how the curation process works. Is it just the Makers Up team that finds stuff to feature, or do you offer submissions as well? I think that being active in the communities plays a big role for something like this to have relevant content.

In terms of curation, we're a team of 5 located all around the world. This ensures that we'll be able to catch any new article / update that is released anytime, and content will be pushed out 24/7.
At the moment, we don't have a system in place yet. But, we definitely do accept contributions / submissions via DM on Twitter and Telegram. Most people typically send us their story, product & launch link which we take a look at before putting out content for it.

Great to see a publication for makers. It's amazing to see these makers ads, news sources and much more pop up.
Is the site going to become a hub over time or are you guys focused on the newsletters and Twitter account?

At the moment, we're looking to build our newsletter & account as we just officially launched. But soon, we'll be live-streaming on Twitch / YouTube too.
From there, yes - it'll eventually become a hub where all the content will be on!
