Show IH: I turned "one lucky user" into something I can't quietly quit

Two weeks ago I posted here about finally doing the "second half" of a startup for the first time — getting one stranger to actually use the thing I built (AbleScan, a free accessibility scanner) instead of just shipping and going silent.

A commenter (jahangiriqbal) pushed on the one thing I'd left vague: proving the loop can close once is easy. The real test is whether that honest conversation repeats — without quietly turning into a pitch.

That landed. Because "one stranger used it" is a story. It's not a system.

So this week I did something small but uncomfortable: I started keeping a written record of every real conversation. Four columns — what was this person's actual problem, what had they already tried, what did they do with the scanner, what did they ask for next. No record = no conversation, just me waiting for a slot to pitch into.

The honest part: it's slow, and it doesn't feel like "founder work." Five builds' worth of me quitting means I have zero data on the second half. This log is the first paper trail I've ever had of whether the motion actually repeats — or was one lucky loop.

Still $0 external. Still not at zero turns. Now at least I'll know which one it is.
