Show IH: I'm trying to make living abroad easier. Join me and 4 other founders in Bangkok for a month.

Hey IH,

Writing this from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. So I’ve been working on an idea to make it easier for people to try living abroad for a few months.

Here's my MVP. Every month I want to bring talented entrepreneurial people together to travel, live and work abroad. The first trip is this November in Bangkok, Thailand. I’m gonna find 5 people, book a house and we’re gonna have a fun month experiencing this city and getting work done.

Why? I tried this lifestyle myself and I ran into many problems: it’s hard to pull the trigger and do it because you risk being unhappy and not getting work done if you don’t do it right, when you live in a foreign country without friends it’s lonely, you have to do a lot of research to figure out where to live and how you’re gonna keep working uninterrupted (like ensuring good internet and healthy meals).

Here’s the website with lot more detail if you wanna check it out: www.quarterlifecrisisclub.com

Feel free to ask me any questions here.

      Thanks Leo!

Glad you found it interesting enough to come up with these questions. Let me try to answer them.

That sounds like a temporary local mastermind group?
I don't know what a mastermind group is. I think of it simply as just a group of people who can work online getting together and living in Bangkok.

Do you intend that the persons work together on a project?
It's not the intent but it could happen. In most cases I imagine most people would have their own work already lined up, whether it's continuing to work on an online business or starting one.

What would be the ideal makeup of a group in your opinion?
It's too early to say whether there's an ideal makeup or specific things that are required in a group to make this work. At the very least I think people's personalities need to be compatible and that's what the application process is for.

What will be your selection criteria?
I don't have a checklist of things I'm looking for besides good vibes and evidence of talent and work.

      Why one month?
Less than one month and it's too short a time to make real friends that last. Over a month is too big a commitment for many people so I think the sweet spot is one month with the option of staying longer.

What will people have control over and what won't they have control over?
People are free to do whatever they want during the trip. At the end of the day, this isn't that much different from getting a group of friends together and traveling. You get to meet the people on the trip before everything is finalized so if you don't like the people you can choose to not go.

      Can people join several times?
      Yep.

How do you justify the 100 dollar per month fee?
Sure. I thought a lot about this. I asked myself how much I would have paid for a service like this when I was starting out and $100 is on the low end. I'm trying to serve people who feel the same pain that I did. For those who do, I think $100 for one month is a great deal.

I am curious to see, how everything plays out for you and what lessons you will learn!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it!
