Show IH: lntroducing a way to capture and track ideas

Hey Kam, first off great app and idea, here's some feedback in regards to improvements in UI/UX as well as just general organization and features:

• On the frontpage it would be cool to see a demo exactly how the app works maybe through screenshots and less text, perhaps a tutorial after you login that walks you through the app.
• After pressing "Getting Started" there isn't a way to go back to the frontpage, perhaps have a "X" button in the top right corner kinda how IndieHackers does it with their login/signup pages. Perhaps also have some text on the login/signup pages describing a few more things in regards to the app in short bullets.
• Perhaps think about restructuring the frontpage, personally I think the gradient is too heavy on the background, and the "Getting Started" button shows twice on the page.
• After logging in, I originally found it not very clear as to exactly what I need to do, I think that's where the tutorial would really come in handy. The dashboard didn't feel natural on desktop felt like it was more for mobile (with the bottom navigation).
• On the "Baseline" section of the idea construction the text and checkboxes should be larger - perhaps think about centering the project initialization questions in a container.
• The idea "Settings" modal has a lot of whitespace between the "Completed" checkbox and "Delete Idea" button, perhaps make that modal smaller.
• Perhaps think about making a screen just for milestones because when there are a lot of weekly milestones it creates a lot of left whitespace on the page and may make it harder to navigate to other items on the page.
• In terms of functionality you should do some email/password verification and a few other things like editing milestones I'm sure you're already aware of.
  Outside of that I think the project idea and goal are very solid. I was wondering in regards to who exactly your target audience is. One thing to think about is that a lot of the functionality for the application can be done through already established apps such as Slack (via plugins), Google Calendar, JIRA, Trello, Asana...etc. If you're planning on targeting a larger audience it might be helpful to think about what you can do to differentiate yourself.

Any monetization strategy?

Hey Kam - this is a cool idea. I have the same problem: get an idea...scramble to write it down...and often do that in different tools.

Just signed up for your project to give it a try.

Here is some feedback:

• when creating an idea, on the section where you ask "Do you know who your customer is or how to find them?" --> I suggest you ask an open ended question or allow user to select between 1-5
• on the effort question, you have 5 = low effort and 1 = high. This feels confusing because the questions above are not reverse ordered
• also after I created the idea, I didn't expect to land on a dashboard page. I felt overwhelmed when I came to this page because mentally I was celebrating, thinking, "I just created my first idea!" but then realized, "oh shoot now there are 50 more things I need to do to log this idea"
