Show IH: Meetemu – contact information exchange done right
Hello, Hackers! 👋
We (along with Marcin & Michał) are so thrilled to be able to finally present you what we’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks. 🙌
The idea was born over a month ago when we noticed how difficult it was to stay in touch with people we had met at conferences and various meetups.
Do you have LinkedIn? No? Oh, you don’t use it... Maybe Facebook then? How about Instagram? Let me just give you my e-mail.
We would simply like to connect, so that we can contact each other in the near future. However, asking each other for social media accounts takes time. Sometimes it might be even awkward and burdensome.
Our mission is to simplify and ease contact information exchange. With that in mind, we’ve created meetemu.com 🔥
So far it presents the most basic functionality. Feel free to send yourself an example e-mail including social media profiles and see if such solution would work for you. If you like it as much as we do (we really hope so!), you can sign up for the beta version. Our next step is to validate the idea in real life and see how people will react to it.

While I like the idea, isn't this just another site they'll have had to join in order to solve the problem you state?
You could say "find me on Meetemu" but then you're relying on them contacting you rather than you having some way to contact them.
I completely agree that this is a problem that needs solving but I'm not sure another site is the answer.

We still struggle to clearly describe the idea so that other people wouldn't perceive Meetemu as yet another social network. Maybe the example situation is a bit misleading. 🤔
The main goal of Meetemu is to quickly share your social media accounts with newly met people. To do so, all you have to do is to ask a person for their e-mail address. Meetemu (on behalf of you) will automatically send an e-mail to that person including all of the social media accounts you would like to share with others. There is no need for anyone else besides you to create an account on Meetemu. It just makes YOUR life easier. 😉

Ah, so you wouldn't have to worry about all of the social network usernames, you would go straight to "What is your email?" and then get the socials from there. Got it! I like that much better than my example.
