With all the headaches around figuring out selling online and taxes I put together a tiny mvp for a product. It all works but everything is very rough. But... the thing works.
It determines the location of the website visitor, and calculates taxes based on the sellers info (stored in the account) and the visitors info.
Would love some feedback!

Cool product. I believe some payment gateways are already doing so, such as FastSpring and Paddle.
(Calculate and add taxes/VAT or other charges automatically based on the location of the user)
Don't forget that some visitors might purchase out of their home country (where they pay taxes) so you probably need to give the users a chance to change the billing address.

FastSpring and Paddle (and Gumroad) only allow you to sell digital goods or SaaS-style things. It makes sense since they take on the financial risk. I'm going to add a FAQ suggesting that if you can use Gumroad, FastSpring or Paddle for your thing, then you should!
This product is aimed toward people who:
For example, if you want to sell coaching, you can't do that on Gumroad, FastSpring or Paddle. Using an e-commerce solution works... but there's so much overhead, and you have to shoehorn your use-case into them. What you want is probably just a copy-paste a PayPal Checkout Button onto your website.
That's the goal—make it copy-paste simple to get paid.
