We have launched Project Showcase, a tool for developers “especially mobile developers” to create their portfolio website fast and easy.
→ How we came up with the idea?
First, I have built my portfolio website and it has been helping me to get some jobs. Then friends –especially developers, wanted me to send the source codes to build their own portfolio website. After these requests, I thought that it would be better to make a tool not only for my friends but also for other developers to create their own website.
→ What problems do we solve with our product?
The first question that appeared was “Why are you developing a tool that creates a portfolio website for people who know coding?”
After doing some research in developer communities we got some answers to this question.
- Most of the developers want to have their own website but they don’t have time to build it.
- Building a website can be excessive and overwhelming even for someone who develops software.
- Developers usually don’t want to strive for design, making a website responsive, secure and/or SEO optimized etc.
- Many mobile software developers do not have advanced knowledge about website development.

It would be nice to be able to see a live preview of what a site built using this tool looks like, that’s the first thing I tried to do when visiting
Hey Dean, actually there are 6 live portfolios as examples at our home page in the section 'See what you can do'. But obviously, it's a UX issue since you couldn't able to find it. We will work on it.

If you're asking about the portfolio pages' design, the answer is yes. We are offering our users a preset of themes for each component on the page (header, projects, and footer) and you can customize it as you like. Also, we are adding a new theme each week! =)
