Hi indie hackers! I've been feeding neighborhood strays and volunteering with cat shelters for years, and honestly the best advice I ever got about cats came from other owners.
So I'm building OnlyMeows: a social network for cat owners without the mechanics that make every other network exhausting.
- No feed, no likes, no follower counts
- Once a week the whole community answers one question (like "what actually reduced the early-morning wake-ups?")
- You only see other people's answers after posting your own — keeps things honest instead of crowd-pleasing
- Instead of followers, you keep a private circle: people whose answers were useful, added quietly, no one notified
Still very early. If you have a cat, I'd genuinely appreciate you creating a profile — just trying to get the first 10-20 people in to see if this format actually resonates. Nothing fancy, just cats and honest conversation about them.

Hey, thanks for asking! Right now I'm just picking the weekly question myself, based on stuff I've actually run into as a cat owner over the years. Down the line I'd love to open it up — let people vote on which angle they're most curious about that week, and maybe even have a "theme of the month" (like health, grooming, or nutrition) that the weekly questions rotate around. But for now, keeping it simple and hand-picked while the community's still tiny.

Quick heads up — the domain's a bit generic-AI-sounding because it's actually left over from an old pet project of mine (already paid for, didn't want it to go to waste 😅), but OnlyMeows itself has nothing to do with AI.

Press coverage is definitely something I'd consider down the line, but honestly not something I'm thinking about yet. Right now the whole goal is just getting the first 10-20 real registrations and seeing if the format even resonates with people. If I do go down the press route later, I'll definitely reach out!

Absolutely makes sense. The first 10–20 registrations are probably much more valuable right now than press coverage anyway.

What matters most now is whether people come back for the next weekly question. Do early users return and participate again, or is the first post mainly curiosity?
That's exactly the question I'm trying to answer, honestly. Right now I don't have enough people in yet to tell if it's curiosity vs. real return behavior — that's the whole point of getting the first 10-20 in. Once there's a real base, I'll be watching return rate on the next weekly question closely, that's the metric that actually tells me if this format works or not.
