Dead simple contact management for you and your business
Hi everyone! I'm Matt and I'm working on Pickle. It's a CRM that's designed to be simple, easy to use, and developer friendly. A few apps have been built on top of it such as home buying timelines, construction project timelines, and more.
I started Pickle because in my last startup (ShopSidestep.com), we had a hard time learning about our customers and keeping track of things. Everything was in so many places. Which shows they attended, feedback they've provided, customer support, purchases, refunds, etc. It was hard to keep track of it all being all over the place. Pickle helps solve that by bringing it under one room (plus, a beta zapier app really helps do the trick!)
I'm even using it to plan my wedding with my Fiancé. We're able to keep track of who's coming, what meals they've picked, how many guests, did we send them a thank you card, etc. We've got a dashboard (in Pickle) that shows how many people are coming, how many are not coming, how many people have visited our wedding website, and so much more.
I'd love to know what you all think about Pickle and I'm happy to answer any questions! Thanks for reading!
The first thing I noticed (probably because I've built plenty of websites) is the hero image on the homepage is huge and takes a while to load (even with my 500Mbps internet). I checked the source and it says the image size is 3.5MB.
The second thing I noticed is if your logo did not say "CRM" in it, I wouldn't know what the website is trying to sell. And if I wasn't really sure what "CRM" meant, I really wouldn't know what your website is trying to sell. I would tweak your copy a bit to make it more clear.
Otherwise, major props for launching a product!
Hi Parker! Thanks for the feedback :) Good catch on the banner image, that's wayyy too heavy.
Hi Matt,
I didn't sign up since I don't need a 3rd party crm right now but I had a look around. First thought is that your business plans are way too cheap. Other CRMs are often >$50/seat some of them up to $150/seat. You're charging $1.50/seat on your biggest plan. I understand price anchoring but you aren't giving yourself a lot of room to grow when your customers do. Your customers could add like $2,000,000 a year to salary with 20 new employees and $120 a year more to you for increased crm usage.
Pick your niche. If you're going to be a personal crm then going with the wedding planning story is a win and a great marketing potential. If you're going after business customers that is a turn off since I wonder if it's designed more for personal projects?
Copy, I'm not great at copy or landing page creation so take the following with a pinch of salt. I've also only listed the problems I saw not the good points so don't think I only saw negatives that definitely isn't true!
menu: files, enrichment are these separate products or features of the CRM?
sub-headline: Probably a good place to tell me how you will let me know my customer. The CRM in the name definitely helps but this could probably be better used.
logos - when I see logos with no description like (companies that use us, products we integrate with) my scam alert goes off. Why are they there?
first block - too much text. I forced myself to read the last 4 paragraphs which start out by repeating what is above.
Powered by Happiness - not sure what that means, confusing
The rest seems ok though home buying in the footer again confused me, is that a different product?
Overall I think you just need to figure out who you want to sell to and focus in. The home buying stuff seems cool. General CRM is probably going to be a tough launching point, I don't know about real estate but it's definitely a smaller niche to sell to. Maybe do a PickleRE focused on that market? Anyhow thanks for posting, I hope something in this way too long response has been helpful and good luck!
Hi Shawn,
Thanks so much for the feedback, I very much appreciate it!
I've made a few changes and still working on some copy changes. You're totally right, there is way too much text there.
The home buying part is a tool that's built on top of Pickle to help realtors be more transparent with their clients. It also works for any other pro/client relationship (not just real estate).
Your feedback is very helpful! It's sometimes hard to see things from someone else's perspective when you're so wrapped up in it.
Cheers!
Hey Matt,
Glad it was helpful.
https://picklecrm.com/features.html is great. Huge improvement in my understanding vs the split pages.
Thanks Shawn, much appreciated :)
I think there's still a lot more that I could do to make it even better, too! Hopefully this is a good start.
