Show IH: Rephrazo – Inline AI rewriting without copy-paste

I’ve been working on a small tool called Rephrazo and finally pushed an early version live, so I wanted to share it here and hear what you think.

The problem

Every time I wrote anything - landing pages, tweets, investor updates, emails - I kept doing the same dance:

1. Write a rough sentence
2. Copy it into ChatGPT/Grammarly
3. Ask it to “make it clearer / shorter / less cringe”
4. Paste it back, fix formatting
5. Repeat… a lot

It worked, but it added a constant “tax” to editing. I was spending more time jumping between tools than actually rewriting.

What Rephrazo does

Rephrazo is a tiny helper that tries to remove that loop:

• You highlight text where you’re writing
• Hit a hotkey
• An AI paraphrase appears in a small popup
• You can insert it back with one click

No browser. No prompt field. No copy–paste. Just “this sentence feels off - quick rewrite - keep going”.

The goal is not to replace writing, but to make small rewrites cheap enough that you don’t lose flow.

What I’m looking for

Right now I’m trying to understand:

• Does inline rewriting (without tab-switching) actually matter to you?
• In which contexts would you use this (emails, landing pages, docs, DMs, something else)?
• What’s the first thing that feels annoying or clunky when you try it?
