I’m about four months into my challenge to build four apps in twelve months and I've been sharing my experience on Indie Hackers. I'm proud to say my first app launched last week ☺️
Check out Savor & West and let me know if you have ideas on how to improve it, or if you have any questions.
Also, I'm planning to write another blog post in a few weeks that will cover the run-up to the Product Hunt launch and how the launch has been going. I'll be sure to post that on Indie Hackers.
Congrats on your launch!
Here's my feedback and questions (on the idea and landing page - I didn't have time to download the app, sorry):
'Your personal bar expert' is very vague. I initially thought it was an app with instructions on how to make cocktails.
It's also not very engaging (the tagline from above) - sell me on why I want the app, not what the app is. I don't want to download a personal bar expert, but I do want to discover the best drinks in the most underrated bar near me (for example).
Craft a story that engages me. Think of it like IKEA - first you have show the product in a showroom setting to excite the customer... Only later do you show them the pamphlet detailing which screw to put into hole X...
Above comment goes for the whole landing page
How are you monetizing?
How are you curating and, more importantly, who is curating? Why should I trust your opinion? (hint: give me examples, happy users, testimonials...)
Last feedback is less actionable and perhaps a bit subjective:
The use case for this app seems to be quite infrequent... I would imagine a 'heavy user' maxing out about 1x per week at most. At that usage level, a web-app would probably yield better results than the friction/barrier of downloading an app.
Good luck!
