I built a site to search current technology/entrepreneur conversations in one place. Covers Indie Hackers, Hacker News, Lobsters, DevTo and parts of Reddit.
https://forumsearch.io
Hope this helps the IH crowd to monitor for product mentions and gauge the topic sentiment.
This is a great product. I see myself using this often. I think the future of search is curation. It's getting rather inconvenient to find relevant stuff on google. Nowadays, most of my searches include reddit or the like.
100% agree with you. Google is getting progressively less useful :/
I do search specific topics on those forums very often, so Forum Search is pretty useful!
Thanks for building this, Alex :)
Saves me the headache of running same product-related search in different places. Happy to help.
Alex this is a great product for sure! Discover tools are so powerful but at the same time very challenging! As you need to ensure curation for my search or at least better curation than google!
Thank you. My intent is to help hackers and founders. Monitoring conversations on important topics is difficult across so many platforms. It always annoyed me to the point that I started ignoring it altogether :/
This is such a lean and amazing product!
I can see a lot of potential to have people discover trends, conversations and researches.
How would you like to take it further and how can we help?
Can I ask your opinion of the problem I'm trying to solve here? Here is the use case I was trying to address:
I'm working on my other product (does not matter which in this context). The product is very young - every customer counts. To promote it, I need to daily comb thru tech/entreprenerd forums to find and engage in relevant conversations. I also need to find people who are the most active in these conversations to reach out to them directly. None of the platforms (IH/HN/..) allow for that, forget having it done from in one place.
This tool, if built out, could be that command and control center for social engagement and product positioning. There are loads of similar marketing tools but none of them specific to tech and most of them consumer-centric.
Do you see value in this? Can you critique? Would be happy to chat.
