Show IH: Social Proof Website Widget
Dear Indie Hackers,
I've build a simple social proof popup notification widget that would show recent signups and feedbacks on your website.
It is based on an idea where people often replies on other people's action to make decision. People are often willing to buy a product or service if they see others are buying it.
It is mainly targeted to SaaS or other website owners that captures sales, new registration or subscription for newsletters.
It requires little bit of technical skills; such as, copying and pasting of a javascript snippet on the page and calling javascript method on signup page. Optionally, it can pulls new signup/subscriptions from Stripe as well.

not sure why I would choose this over Fomo (Ryan is kicking everyone's ass) and Proof (2nd even with millions in VC funding).

The copy of first screen needs an overhaul in my opinion as it's mostly only telling you why social proof is a good thing which I'm sure most people know already. It's a lot of text without saying much and I don't know what the product actually is from it. I'd want to see something along the lines of "Display customer reviews and recent sale notifications directly on your site to build social proof"
I would make the feature list much clearer e.g. shows recent reviews, shows recent sales.

@IndieHacker12 , I've noticed in the awesome features section, the location on the four cards changes to the user's location (John from XYZ. Just bought our service). This is super dope!
If you don't mind me asking, may I know how you did it?
haha! I am glad you noticed.
I am using IP to Geo and based on that I am updating the "four cards" to show your city.
Awesome. I feel this by itself could be a small service/tool useful for websites.
Agreed! Maybe socialProof.buzz will evolve where instead of growl notifications it will show landing page to match the visitor's persona.

I noticed you have no link to the home page from you 404, eg I ended up here somehow https://www.socialproof.buzz/billing

LOL!! Just launched it therefore no customers yet. Waiting for an Indie Hacker to cut the ribbon :).
I am not sure how other's app work but with this, you can schedule to automatically send email to your customer asking for feedback (simple thumb up/down) for your product. Now, not only you can show new signups but also, review/feedback as well. Also, you get to know what your customers think about your product.
Additionally, if you are using Stripe, you can connect your Stripe account and it will pull new signups/subscription from there.
If there is a traction, I would like to add feature where it will pull new likes and followers from Twitter and other social media accounts and reviews from Google and Yelp!

Maybe you can fake proofs initially before a real customer base is formed?

When I last checked FOMO primarily worked for e-commerce only.

It’s the calling a JavaScript method that will hang too many website owners.
I’m sure they can copy and paste. The other part - not so much.
Look at your competition, almost all of them have a plugin or a simpler setup.
