Show IH: Super simple weekly goal setting for your Slack team

Hey all,

I've long been struggling with multitasking and inability to focus on the most important tasks.

So for a long time I wanted a simple app that would just:

  • remind me and my teammates on Monday morning to set up to 3 main things we each want to get done by the end of the week
  • remind me us then on Wednesday to quickly set the status
  • and then finally on Friday afternoon do the final report

I took inspiration for Oneteam from the well-known productivity concept of weekly PPPs (Plans, Progress, Problems) that's used in companies like Facebook, Skype, etc.

And since most young companies now use Slack - I've decided to build an app that works only in Slack (there's literally no front-end). Whole onboarding, settings, everything - it's all in Slack.

Here's the website 👉 https://oneteamhq.com
(The app is currently in private beta - please write me here or on the website if you'd like to give it a spin.)

What am I looking for?
Anykind of feedback - what do you think about the problem we are trying to solve, the website, the copy?

Thanks!

Great idea !! Good work on the website , simple, creative and gives the customer exact idea about the product within seconds.

    Couple of questions :

    1. Can I set private goals and push it to the team once I am confident about its progress ?
    2. Can I set advanced goals , say tasks I would like to start next week ? (serve as a reminder)

We use JIRA at work, helps to keep track of tasks, escalations, bugs + link bitbucket to receive comments or recommendations on code.
The kanban board idea used in JIRA is very useful to track overall team progress.

      Hey Titania,
thanks for the comments and questions!

      1. You can't set private goals (at least not for now). We want to encourage discipline of sharing goals and progress quickly and often - which then results in the whole team getting better at setting and keeping realistic goals over time.
      2. Currently, you can't set advanced goals. We might add it in the future though.

Regarding Jira (or any other task management tool): I see our tool as quite complementary. The goals you set here are more high level (because there can only be up to 3) - we didn't want this to be the task management solution within Slack. Smaller tasks should still be managed either in Jira or Trello or even just on a paper/wall.

      Hope this helps a bit!

      Thanks!

Just curious - do you currently use any tool / technique to keep yourself/team focused?
