Hello fellow Indie Hackers!
This is the first MVP I’ve built in a few years. Please let me know what you think and thank you for inspiring me to build again 😁
Securely is the easiest way to safely share passwords, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information. It uses end-to-end encrypted burner links to secure your data in transit.
I work in a large tech company with many small teams. A few months ago I had to share some server credentials with someone on a different team.
Unfortunately, there were no instances of vault or one password shared by our two teams. Our only connection was over slack or email and both mediums are not end to end encrypted out of the box. There are a few gmail plugins that use GPG encryption, but neither of us had those set up and we didn’t want to leave slack.
Eventually, we opted to manually share our public keys and slack the encrypted payload. Needless to say, this really sucked.
That’s when I had the idea for Securely. Just paste any text you want to share and slack the link. The encryption is done for you in the web browser and the encrypted material is deleted from the server as soon as the link is opened.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated 🙏🏻
Thanks for reading!
Congratulations on the launch!
You might be interested in this need-gap: Secure transfer of encryption keys after death posted on my problem validation forum, Perhaps could be even addressed with Securely?
Thanks Abhishek! Interesting use case. If I offered an option to remove the expiration time, the url could serve as one time use recovery link for any crypto assets 🤔
On a side note, need gap looks really useful.
Thanks!
I just sighted crypto as an example for how bad it could be when loosing encryption keys in the problem statement, But I'm not interested in crypto specifically.
But I'm surely interested in transfer of encryption keys in general, Like keys for encrypted documents/code.
