Dear Hackers,
I've been working on a project that will hopefully be useful to everyone when they want to take a break from hacking. The app is called TripGeeks, it's a platform to find or create travel itineraries for places you want to visit. You can create itineraries using AI or you can manually build them with the help of Google places. You can build an itinerary by yourself or you can invite people to work on it with you. After you create the itinerary you can share it publicly for anyone to use or you can keep it private so only you and those who are invited can see it.
Basically the goal with TripGeeks is to create a travel companion that provides one click access to your current trip and all the information you need to get around. I'm trying to make traveling simpler so you can focus on the experience and not the planning. I'm partly hoping to accomplish this by creating a community of travelers who help other travelers by sharing itineraries and other information that other people will find useful.
I would love to hear any feedback if you have any. Also, if you have any advice how to build out this community or this product, that'd be great to hear too. And if you have any connections that you think might be mutually beneficial, or any interest in partnering up, please reach out. I'm a developer and building product is where I'm most comfortable, the marketing and business side of things have historically been very difficult for me.
Thanks for reading!
Ok its a bit confusing. As a first time user i thought that i will input name of target place and it will create plan for me on a homepage.
Basically, you have to emulate roamaround\.io - they've cracked it. But be warned it costed them a lot just to start.
You gotta be their direct competitor or find another angel to differentiate yourself.
As for now, site is too confusing - too many things to fill in and end user has to go through the hoops to create their first travel.
Simplify it.
Hey Maky2, I just launched an MVP version of this 👆feature to make it simpler to access and use. if you get a chance to check it out, would love to get your thoughts on it and how I can improve.

To access the feature, click the concierge bell in the lower right on a mobile device, or under the hero image if accessed from the desktop
Thanks!
I think its nice feature.
You can add small popups on mouse hover to explain what each icon does (on homepage).
👍 thanks, that's another great suggestion
Thanks for the feedback! I hope you stay tuned. I actually built this product as a way to create and share travel itineraries before AI went mainstream, then I recently added to ability to help you create itineraries with AI. I guess I should maybe de-emphasize the AI part a little bit as this is a more of a general travel application that will be enhanced with AI.
I just heard about roamaround and I agree they made it really simple to create an itinerary with AI. I’m working on a feature that will bring that simplicity to TripGeeks as well, I hope to get that live in the next week or so.
As far as differentiating myself, I think TripGeeks has a lot more features than what roamaround offers. For instance you can collaborate on an itinerary and you can copy and build off of other people’s itineraries, just to name a couple. But yeah, it’s a work in progress and I'm just hoping I can find a good product market fit for this.
Ok i see. One tip i could give you is to make homepage input box direct to page with "Create Trip"
Now its just shows "No trips found". So if someone searches for "Valencia" and there are no trips, add button "Create Trip to Valencia".
I think that this should keep user in the loop.
Thanks! I like the idea, I think it might add to the create/sharing/community aspect that I'm aiming for
